Note 4 Powers Off When On A Call

Problem: Hi guys hope ur well. Right ive got a samsung galaxy note 4 for a few years it’s been running fine. But recently for a month or two. While i’m using it or on a call it keeps powering off and restarting itself. Done a factory reset and still same problem. Still on the android 5.0.1 software but don’t want to update the software to 6.0.1 because heard it’s got a lot of issues. Please please help

Solution: If a factory reset does not fix this problem then it’s it’s possible that this isn’t caused by a software glitch. The next step that you should do is to determine if a faulty battery is causing the problem. Get a new battery then check if the problem still occurs. If it does then you should have this checked at a service center as it’s possible that it is caused by a faulty power IC.

Note 4 Turns Off With Battery Life Left

Problem: i have note 4 and it turned off after batt is at around 40% to 46%.  doesn’t matter what i am using, i tried factory reset it and didn’t install any of app. it is not app issue. i am very very disappointed with this phone now. please help me

Related Problem: My phone us only 17 months old. It now shuts itself down when battery is anywhere from 45 to 55 percent. This is my second one and the last one I had problems to. What can be done as my contract isn’t up till October and I cannot buy a new one as they are too expensive.

Solution: If the phone shuts down with some battery life left the first thing you should do is to check if it is caused by some form of software issue. The troubleshooting steps listed below are what you need to perform.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
  • If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it.

Once you have eliminated the possibility of this being a software problem it’s time to concentrate on hardware related causes. Unfortunately there’s not much troubleshooting that you can do on this part except to replace the battery. If the issue still occurs even with a new battery installed then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could be caused by an internal component that is failing to work properly.

Note 4 Turns Off On Its Own

Problem: hi good evening. I have my samsung note 4. SM N910C. It has an amoled burn after I leave with a non screen time out and full bright screen. That was according to my friend. She got new phone thats why she gave it to me. My problem is that why my note 4 is auto powering off by itself. Powering off without a logo of samsung. It was already updated on marshmallow 6.0.1. I am thinking that maybe the amoled burn is the reason but why the whole system is powering off. It is functioning normal when it’s still 40%. Please help me.

Solution: A Super AMOLED display is prone to burn in issues especially if a static image is displayed for a long period of time. This issue however is not likely to cause your phone to turn off on its own. What you need to check first is to verify if a glitch in the phone software is causing the problem. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below then immediately check if the issue still occurs after performing a step. Move to the next step if the issue still occurs.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone works in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
  • If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it.

If the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then you should try getting a new battery as the battery that you are using could be causing this problem.

Should the issue persist then you have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Turns Off Not Turning On Unless Battery Is Removed

Problem: The phone shut down when it is around 15 to 20 percent of the battery left. It will then cause the phone to be unable to charge unless the battery is taken out a few times. Then it some time might go to “Could not do normal boot. Ddi : mmc_read failed Odin mode (high speed) …… ” With an android symbol and text saying downloading….. Do not turn off target. After I tried to turn on the phone. Or it might get stuck on the samsung symbol page. Until i take out the battery and retry. Otherwise when i am inactive for a long time when not using the phone. The screen will not light up regardless of any button press. Which require the battery to be taken out and charge to try to on the phone again. I am unsure of what issue may have cause this as i only download 2 apk Thanks for helping.

Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is caused by an internal component that’s failing to work possibly the power IC. You should however do some troubleshooting to determine if other factors are involved. Try doing a factory reset to check if the phone software is causing the problem. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If this fails to fix the problem then you should try replacing the battery with a new one.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Will Not Charge

Problem: Hi Guys, Galaxy Note 4 would not charge, no vibration or light when charger plugged in. Fitted new battery and started after pressing volume up, home and power buttons. Then started occasionally rebooting and freezing with message “update loading do not turn off” or something like that. Changed battery and some how got it going again. Finally did factory reset a few days ago and it seemed OK until today when after recharging update message came on. No combination of buttons worked, so took battery out, now won’t charge or turn on again even with battery change. My limited knowledge suspects corrupted operating system (never rooted) but I don’t know how

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to clean the phone charging port using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris that could be present in the port gets removed. As soon as this is done charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger that is known to work. If the phone does not charge then try charging it using a computer USB port. If your phone charges with the USB port then one pin in the charging port of your phone is faulty. Have this checked at a service center. If the phone still does not charge when plugged to a computer USB port then try using a different battery on your phone. If the phone still does not turn on then you should have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 Screen Does Not Remain On

Problem: Hi! My phone’s screen does not remain on. I followed your guides without luck.   In short:   1. Switch on phone, starts up, cool. 2. Gets to pin input screen, and if you do not enter your pin fast enough, screen goes black. 3. Nothing I do can get the screen back on, except a reset by taking battery out.   I tried soft reset, but not master/factory reset, as I am afraid to lose my data.   I have removed all apps that are not needed, and I have made sure my OS is updated to the latest version (no pending updates).   What else can I try, please?

Solution: For this particular problem you should try to start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. If this does not work then you need to perform a factory reset which also needs to be done in recovery mode. Make sure that you backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the problem still occurs even after performing a reset then this is most likely a hardware related issue already. You should have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 Does Not Fully Charge

Problem: I am using Samsung Galaxy Note 4. I just put the new battery few days back. On day 1 it charged normally till 100%. Next day when I put my phone on charging, all went well till 70% but it stopped charging after. Though it does show that the phone is charging but it doesn’t go more than 70%, not even if the phone is charging overnight, still stays around 70%. Can you help me please. Thanks

Solution: For this particular issue you should clean the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air. Once this is done use a different charging cord and wall charger to charge your phone. If the battery charge still does not go above 70% then you might have bought a defective battery. Try to replace this with a new one.

Note 4 Only Turns On To Samsung Logo Then Shuts Off

Problem: Hi my Samsung note 4 won’t turn on after it randomly turned off. i was taking a picture and it just turned off. i tried to turn it back on but it won’t. the Samsung word shows up on the screen but then it disappears and doesn’t turn on

Related Problem: Dear Sir/Madam, My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is not turning on.. Even I tried all the way. Its some time turn on up to Samsung message and go to sleep forever. Again if I remove the battery for a while like 30 mins then again up to that message.  Could you please help me to solve this problem, and if you want I will send it to you. Thanks and waiting for your reply.

Solution: It’s possible that this problem is caused by the battery not having sufficient charge. Try charging your phone first for at least 20 minutes then turn on your phone while still connected to its charger. If the issue still occurs then do the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in recovery mode. Wipe the cache partition of your phone.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode. Do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
  • Try getting a new battery.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
