Note 4 No Response Even When Charged
Problem: Note 4 completely dead. No response or indicators when a known good charger is plugged in. Replaced battery with a known fully charged battery still no response. No response to soft reboot. No response to recovery mode boot. Good battery but no lights, no buzz, no response at all. How to repair without losing stored data. What do you suggest?
Solution: The best way to fix this issue right now is to bring the phone to a service center as the first thing that needs to be checked is the power IC. If this has been damaged then the phone will not turn on. Replacing this component requires special equipment to be used. The good news is that your phone data will not be erased during the replacement of this IC.
Note 4 Shuts Off Even with Battery Still Charged
Problem: Hello, My wife has a samsung note 4 that we are having problems. On a full charge the phone seems to work fine until somewhere between 50 and 80% then it shuts off. (until you plug it back in) it then shows the same battery % and then will work for awhile until it shuts off again, I am guessing new firmware but not sure, tried a new battery also…. Any help would be appreciated thanks
Solution: Since you already tried isolating the battery as a possible cause to this problem then the next step is to verify if the phone software is causing this issue. Before doing this you will need to backup your phone data first as it will be erased in the process.
- If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it to check if this is causing the problem.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the phone still shuts off on its own. If it doesn’t then you might have downloaded an app that is causing this problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then proceed with a factory reset.
Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as it looks like this is already being caused by a faulty internal component.
Note 4 Shuts Off Randomly
Problem: Having an issue with the phone shuts off randomly, and battery life fluctuates up and down, and when i power on, i get a android logo while on download mode with messages on the top left corner (mainly in blue, red, and gray word) i tried master reset but the phone would shut off randomly
Solution: For this particular issue you should try replacing your battery as it appears that this could be a battery related issue. If the issue still occurs even after replacing the battery then try doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. If necessary, connect the phone to its charger when doing this. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this appears to be caused by a faulty internal component.
Note 4 Turns Off When Not Connected To Charger
Problem: Hi I have a galaxy note 4 i replaced the battery with a non standard one about a year ago which I bought from snow accessories store. Recently that battery has started to fail. I’ve now bought 5 new batteries from different sources and none work. They sometimes work with the charger plugged in but switch off when disconnected. When I plug in the charger the lightning symbol appears it vibrates then goes blank. This then repeats over and over. The funny thing is tho that it works fine with the original and second battery. But none of the new ones work.
Solution: It’s possible that all 5 of the new batteries you got have issues. You should try to check if this is the case by using the batteries on another Note 4 phone.
Once you have verified that the batteries are good then you will have to check if the phone software is causing the problem. To do this you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the problem still occurs. If it does then there’s a possibility that this could already be caused by a faulty internal component. If this is the case then I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
Note 4 Keeps On Offering Update Starts In Recovery Boot
Problem: Phone keeps offering an update, when it downloads the update, it shuts off once it reaches 100%. I let it sit a while, but have to manually start the phone and when it powers up it starts with “recovery booting”. After it’s powered up it offers the update again.
Solution: Try taking out the battery and microSD card ( if your phone has one installed) then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then turn on your phone. Does the issue still occur? If it does then you will have to do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
Note 4 Turns On On Its Own With Battery Drain Problem
Problem: Hi, I have had a Galaxy Note 4 for over 2 years. Every night I turn it off so as preserve battery and not be disturbed. Recently, I’ve come down in the morning and found my phone turned on with very little battery left. I have even accused my husband of checking up on me and not turning it off after he’s been snooping (he swears he’s got better things to do…..like sleep). Could it be an app that I have installed doing this although? The only 2 new apps I installed were Bubble Saga 3 and Talabat food ordering app. Thanks
Solution: Your phone should not turn on on its own unless the power button is pressed. It’s either someone has turned on the phone or you might just have turned off the screen which makes you think that the phone is off.
You should try to verify this again by doing a little experiment. When turning off the phone just take out its battery. Insert the battery after a couple of seconds but do not press the power button. Just leave the phone overnight. Try to check if the phone still turns on on its own in the morning. If it doesn’t then you might not have turned the phone off completely previously.
If the phone turns on again with a low battery charge then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone yet. Repeat the experiment that you did above.
If the problem still occurs then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Not Fast Charging
Problem: Note 4. About a month ago my fast charger stopped working. I’ve tried different cords in the house as well as purchased new cords and bricks. Still not working. The charge is extremely slow. I’ve turned off the phone, taken the battery out and rebooted, checked to make sure the ‘fast charge’ box is marked. Nothing. Now what? I’m not sure what Android version it has.
Solution: For this issue you should try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air since the dirt or debris stuck in this port might be causing the problem. If the issue still occurs try replacing the battery as sometimes a faulty battery will charge very slowly.
If the issue still persists then bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Only Works When Connected To Charger
Problem: I bought my note 4 2 years ago, it was performing very well Four months ago, the phone began to suddenly shut down at 30% battery. So i changed the battery, and it worked well but for only 2 months, then the problem is back again phone shut down at 30 % battery! Knowing that when i connect it to the charger it shows 0%! So i changed yesterday the battery again! Now my phone is only working when it is on charger! Whenever i remove the charger the phone works for 5 minutes and then shuts down I deleted most of the apps and installed the norton antivirus, but i’m vain Any solution?
Solution: You should first verify if the battery that you are using does not have an issue. If you can check the battery on another Note 4 device then check if the issue occurs then it would be great. If not then you will have to either bring the phone to a service center and have the battery checked or get another battery that is known to work and try it on your phone.
One you have determined that the battery is not causing the problem the next step is to check if the phone software is the culprit. To do this just backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install anything in your phone yet. Check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could already be caused by a faulty internal component in which case you should have this checked at a service center.
