Initially running on Android KitKat, the phone was then upgraded to Android Lollipop and then to what appears be its final official software version which is the Android Marshmallow. These updates are released to enhance the operation of the device and improve its security. While it is generally highly recommended to get these updates there are some instances when certain issues can occur. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 4 doesn’t start after software update issue & other related problems.

Note 4 Doesn’t Start After Software Update
Problem: There was an update on my during the night. It said it was restarting early this morning. Now for hours it has been on the beginning screen. That says Samsung GALAXY Note4. In the upper left hand corner in yellow it says SET WARRANTY BIT:kernel I have put it on the charger to no avail and have replaced the battery several times. It still starts with the same screen and stays there. HEELPPPP!
Solution: It’s possible that something went wrong with the update installation. What you should do in this case is to start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Restart the phone then check if the issue disappears. It doesn’t then you will need to go back to recovery mode then perform a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you will have to consider flashing the phone with its updated stock firmware file. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
Note 4 Error When Installing Software Update
Problem: I received a used unbranded Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910F) today which was still running Android 5. I connected it to my WLAN and it immediately downloaded the latest Android version 6 (marshmallow). Unfortunately the following update process didn’t finish but ran into an error. The phone now hangs when started normally. And when I start it in recovery mode, it immediately begins again to install the system update which always terminates with error after a few seconds. So I am unable to do a factory reset, being totally stuck in a loop. I can get into download mode though – but Samsung obviously doesn’t offer the needed original firmware to let me flash it with Odin.
Solution: Try taking out the battery and microSD card ( if one is installed) then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. What this does is it discharges the phone circuit then clears out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then try turning on the phone. If the issue still occurs then connect the phone to its charger then start the device in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode successfully then I suggest that you perform a factory reset. I must tell you though that this will erase your phone data.

Note 4 Keeps On Updating Software
Problem: I updated my galaxy note edge update was 398 mb. After update it showed additional firmware of 401 mb. I updated again .it showed more software update. It was updated so many times but every time there was a new update. I formatted my phone and then updated , again it shows one more update . After this second update it again shows one more update. . Same problem i am facing with my Samsung gear software update. .
Solution: If you have verified that the updates that are arriving have different versions then just let the update proceed. If the updates don’t stop then you should try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still occurs then I suggest you manually flash your phone with an updated firmware file using Odin.
Note 4 Stuck In Boot Page With Yellow Triangle
Problem: Hi Team, My GT N7000 stucked at boot page with yellow triangle. Recovery option is not coming by pressing (Volume up+home+power). I tried to install custom Rom by download mode but software is not loading. It’s not going forward from Factory (write started and failed).service center is also failed. Now you are only hope for me….please guide me , i am ready to take risk….
Solution: Try taking out the battery of your phone and microSD card ( if your phone has one installed) then press and hold the power button. The aim here is to discharge the phone circuit and clear its RAM. Once this is done try starting the phone in recovery mode and do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the problem doesn’t get fixed then you should have your phone checked at a service center that specializes in board level repairs.
Note 4 Slow Operation Restarts On Its Own
Problem: Today my Note 4 started acting weird. First it would operate very slow and get hung up. Also it wouldn’t bring up my text messages or anything. Then it started restarting on its own. It is a constant cycle and has repeatedly done it all day. Now it wont charge up and when I make a call they can’t hear anything but they can hear me.
Solution: Since your phone is experiencing several issues the best way to proceed is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone just yet. Try to check first if any of the issue still occur.
- If the phone is still operating slow then try removing the microSD card ( if you have one installed).
- If the phone doesn’t charge then try cleaning the charging port using a can of compressed air. You should also use different charging cords and wall chargers to charge your phone.
Note 4 Audio And Video Not In Sync
Problem: Hi I have this annoying issue on my Note 4 that I have noticed over the past few months. When I play videos there is a difference between the actual lip movements in the picture and the sound. This happens both on videos on the internet and videos taken with my camera
Solution: Try checking the video file being played on other devices if the same issue occurs. If it does then the problem could be with the video file. If it doesn’t then you should try clearing the cache and data of the video player app that you are using. Try also saving the video file in the internal storage of the phone instead of the microSD then playback the file. This way you can check if the microSD card is causing the problem.
Another option you should consider is to download a third party video player app and use it to play your videos.
