Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Shuts Down Does Not Reboot Unless Plugged In Issue & Other Related Problems

Note 4 Shuts Down Does Not Reboot Unless Plugged In

Problem: One day my note 4 shut down and would not reboot unless it was plugged in and charging, where it would load to 91% and work as per normal until it was unplugged. I have factory resetted the phone and i still face this issue. I have noticed that it only occurs when my phone is running and loading data on 4G, and while on wifi, it is able to work perfectly fine . However on 4G, it will simply shut down and not turn on unless plugged into a charger.

Solution: The battery that your phone is using right now might not be able to provide the required power to run the 4G radio of your phone. Try replacing the battery with a new one then check if you are still experiencing the same issue. If the issue persists and since you have already performed a factory reset then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Battery Not Charging Completely Drains Quickly

Problem: Several problems to charge completely the two batteries original Samsung for my Galaxy Note 4 . I am not ever able to get both batteries fully charged and they drain very quickly. I have installed from the beginning the Advanced Task killer , the Switch Manager built in with the telephone and another anti virus application. Even if two days ago I have purchased a brand new Samsung EB-BN910BBE , I am not able to get the 100% of charge on the batteries. I had to cancel most of the applications to let the telephone be more fast and the memory much lighter….. no chance…..

Related Problem: Hello I’ve got Note 4 Tmobile and using it for last few months. I’ve been experiencing different issues related to battery which is now beyond my understanding. For instance 1. Charging not beyond 78%. Sometimes gets stuck at 92%. 2. Changed the charger , cable and battery too 3. Battery drains at much faster pace. Even the bloatware are disabled 4. Phone switches off anywhere below 20% as per its own discretion 5. Cleared the cache , did the factory reset also 6. Checked the charging while on safe mode to see if any app is conflicting with the software, to no avail. Plz suggest / recommend any measure to rectify this a anomaly… Looking forward for the reply

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you have then try removing it then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try starting your phone in Safe Mode. When your phone works in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue doesn’t occur then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is ( start with the last app you downloaded before the issue occurred)  and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This deletes the temporary system data which could be causing the problem.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If after performing the steps listed above the issue still remains then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Charges Only When Plugged To Computer

Problem: My note 4 battery will not charge with any charger when plugged in an outlet. but it charges when plugged into the desktop computer. Is there any solutions to the phone not charging when plugged into an outlet?

Solution: This issue could be caused by a faulty pin in the charging port. This port has different pins, one for fast charging from a wall charger, one for slow charging from a USB port, and one for data transfer. Try cleaning the charging port using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed as this could cause charging problems. Check if the phone will charge. If the issue persists then try the following steps listed below.

  • Try using a different charging cord.
  • Try using a different wall charger.

Should the above steps fail then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Shuts Off With 50% Battery Left

Problem: Phone shuts off with as much as 50% battery remaining on normal day. Just replaced battery with oem battery 5 weeks ago. Constantly close out apps after use. After plugging charger back in , it show I have 30 to 50% charge (but without charger it will not turn on) , phone can be started again once charger is plugged in. Also if you have phone out in the cold (20 Fahrenheit or so) it will shut off within a minute. Phone has never had any liquid contact as it stays in a otterbox case.

Solution: Try to check first if this issue is caused by a software glitch by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then try getting another battery. This allows you to eliminate any battery related problems that can cause this issue.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Stopped Fast Charging

Problem: I have a note 4 with t mobile. A few months ago it stopped fast charging and I started having issues with the battery. I purchased a new one by anker same size and all. Installed it still won’t fast charge I factory reset the phone bought a new charger and cable fast charging capable. But still doesn’t fast charge. I’ve checked the pins and they are all there. My phone does say it’s usb charging tho. Any ideas would help. Thanks

Solution: The problem could either be caused by faulty charging port or faulty charging IC. To pinpoint the exact cause of this problem I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Will Not Fully Charge After Update

Problem: Since I have gotten the current update on my phone my battery will not fully charge. I have soft reset and that didn’t fix it and then thinking that Possibly the phone was old enough that I needed a NEW battery I purchased and installed a new battery 2 weeks ago and it will only charge to 76%. Help?

Solution: This problem could be caused by some form of old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. To fix this problem I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Not Charging

Problem: Good day. . I bought chargers every 3 months.. each time I buy I new Samsung fast charger.. it charge my phone for a week then after it cannot charge my phone. But charge other phones.. secondly most time I try to take a photo my phone would shut down.. when I press the power button it won’t turn on. I have to take out the battery then put it back in then it will turn on.. I replace my phone battery … still having the. Same problem

Solution: Since you already tried replacing the battery then I suggest that you try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the issue remains after the reset then it’s possible that this is caused by an internal component that is failing to work. If this is the case then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
