S6 Isn’t Charging
Problem: I don’t know why my phone isnt charging. It was working just the night before, and then i don’t know what happened. The charger wont connect properly into my phone like it used to. Also, when i use my charger on other android devices, it works. Perfectly. I’ve tried other chargers, even brand new ones, and it doesn’t work either. Sometimes it works when i angle it, but only for a second. It stops and wont work again. And if it does work, it only pops up charging and not fast charging like before. Please help me. Thank you.
Solution: It’s good that you have isolated the charger as a possible cause to this issue. Since it isn’t then we can now concentrate on troubleshooting the phone. What you will want to do first is to clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris that could be present in this port. Once this is done try charging your phone preferably with a different charging cord and wall charger. If the phone still does not charge then try charging via a computer USB port. If the phone charges this way then the fast charging pin of the charging port could be damaged. You should have this checked at a service center.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could either be caused by a defective battery or defective charging port. If this is the case then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Constantly Shuts Off
Problem: S6 was constantly shutting off and taking forever to come back on. I performed a factory reset and received a message dm-verity verification failed. Now device comes on to samsung logo and keep flashing off and back onto logo. Red light stays on.
Solution: It appears that the phone software could be corrupt. Since a factory reset fails to fix the problem then you should consider flashing your phone with its stock updated firmware file. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
If flashing your phone fails to fix the problem then this could already be a caused by an internal component that is failing to work. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center if this is the case.
S6 Charges Very Slowly
Problem: Hi there. I have got problem with my galaxy s6 charges very slow. It was charging fine until the original cable got cut loose. whenever charging it, was saying fast charging. Now I have tried more than 10 different types of cables which charges very slow. It takes up to 5 hours to charge fully! So please help me if there is a way to fix this issue. Thank you so much.
Related Problem: My phone will not hardly charge and when it does charge it dies quickly. A lot of the time it will tell me that it is “charging slowly and to use the original charger” and I will be using the original charger… Last night I had it plugged in all night long and when I woke up this morning it was only at 67%. And if it’s not sitting just the right way it won’t charge. It’ll constantly go from charging to not charging. And I’m pretty sure it isn’t the charger because it does it with all of them. I’m thinking maybe there is something wrong with the charging port on the phone. And I just cleaned it with an alcohol swab.
Solution: Make sure that you are using Samsung certified charging cables since generic cables usually does not provide the best charging experience. Once you have made sure that the cable isn’t causing the problem the next step is to check the wall charger that you are using. I recommend trying a different Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging charger to charge your phone.
If the issue persists then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing each step check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed to the next step.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris present in this port.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the problem still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center. It’s either the battery needs to be replaced or something is wrong with the charging port of your phone.
S6 Please Use Original Charging Cable Error
Problem: Hey, When my S6 isn’t on fast charging mode it gives a warning “device charging slowing please use original cable” (not exactly wording but that’s basically what it says). However I’ve had my phone for less than a month now and everything was brand new. I also read online that it’s not good for the phone to use fast charging all the time please help.
Solution: Basically if you are getting this error message then it means that either you are not using the original charging cable of the phone or if you are using it then something might be wrong with it.
To resolve this issue try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air as dirt or debris stuck in this port might cause this problem. Next, try using a different charging cord when charging your phone.
If the issue still persists then you should check if this is caused by a glitch in the phone software by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset.
Regarding the fast charging question that you have it’s true that the battery life will be affected. When a battery is fast charged it causes stress on the battery thus increasing its wear and tear. Samsung however has created a way to avoid this problem by shutting off the fast charging feature once the battery has been charged at a certain percentage level.
S6 Intermittently Not Charging
Problem: I’ve had a Samsung s6 for just about a year now and the last few weeks it has started opening up the Samsung VR app like it’s trying to install it. I don’t have an ur VR equipment and didn’t even know this phone had an app for that! Since this has been popping up my phone will intermittently refuse to charge. I’ve tried 5 different cables, and sometimes it will work but other times it will charge for 10 minutes or so then just stop. I’ve tried getting rid of apps on my phone, deleting the Samsung VR app which it won’t let me do, soft resetting and a lot of other things but it doesn’t seematter to work. Last time it stopped for a week and I had no problems charging it but it’s happened again and now I can’t charge it. However, I do have a wireless charger and it does work with this. I have no idea at all what to do with this!!
Solution: Usually when this issue happens the culprit is the phone charging port. Try cleaning this port first using a can of compressed air. Remove any dirt or debris that could be stuck in this port.
You should also try using different charging cords and wall chargers to charge your phone.
To eliminate any software issues that could be causing this problem I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
