Note 4 Screen Not Recognizing Touches
Problem: Note 4 dropped on Concrete floor and now screen does not recognize touches. S Pen works perfectly though. Screen is cracked at the bottom and has a purple colour that is blurring everything in that area.
Solution: It’s very likely that the drop has damaged the digitizer of your phone which is why it can only recognize the input of the S Pen but not your finger. Here’s what you need to do, backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the reset fails to fix the problem then we can eliminate any software related issues that could be causing this problem. You will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked. Since the digitizer is fused to the display then you may need to have the whole display assembly replaced.
S5 Screen Is Blank
Problem: Hello, today I woke up and my phone was flickering and when I tried to do a hard reset my screen went out. everything works on my phone but the screen is blank. I took the battery out while I was at the dentist then it almost flickered back on but gave out. I tried the soft reset and thus far, hasn’t worked. Is there anything else I can try before spending money I don’t have?
Solution: Try taking out the phone battery and microSD card of your phone then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. What this does is it discharges the phone circuit and clears out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then turn on the phone. If the display still does not work then try turning on the phone in recovery mode. If the display works in this mode then I recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before doing this step.
Should the issue remain unresolved at this point then we might be looking at a damaged display assembly or possibly it its connection to the motherboard has loosened. If this is the case then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Screen Is Black
Problem: so i turned off my phone when i was in lesson then after lesson turned it back on but the screen was black even tho the phone did turn on. tried taking out the battery and putting it back in and it didn’t work even when i held the power without the battery then put back it still isn’t working.
Solution: Try charging the phone first for at least 20 minutes as the battery might not have enough charge to turn on the phone. If the issue persists then you should try getting a new battery.
Should the issue still occur even with a new battery installed then the next step is to start the phone in recovery mode. If the display works in this mode then I recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before doing this.
If the display is still black even in recovery mode or if you are unable to access the recovery mode then I suggest you have this phone checked at a service center as this problem could be caused by a faulty display assembly.
Note 4 Screen Is Unresponsive Black Screen
Problem: Note 4 that was originally repaired for a cracked screen. Now has an unresponsive display. Just black. Powers on and back button works and lights up. Put a brand new front assembly on and still, black screen. What do you suggest
Solution: The first thing you need to verify is if the replacement display assembly is indeed working. This way you can easily eliminate it as a possible source of the problem.
Once you have made sure that the display assembly is working fine the next step is to make sure that it is properly connected to the phone motherboard.
Another factor that you should look into is if this issue is caused by a glitch in the phone software. Try starting the phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then you will need to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data so you have to make sure to have a backup copy before doing this.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should have the phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Flickering Screen After Drop
Problem: I dropped my note 4 from about a 2m height. Now only the LEDs and button lights work and the screen sometimes has a tiny flickering bar at the left side. What can I do? Thanks, Ben
Solution: If this problem occurred right after you dropped your phone then its either the display assembly got damaged or some component inside the phone got damaged. In this particular issue I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Is Having A Black Screen
Problem: My note 4 suddenly displays a black screen you can hear it turn on and see the led light come one along with home screen lights but you can not see anything but a black screen
Related Problem: Good evening, My samsung galaxy note 4 is having a black screen issue and we followed what https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIkk93clSIc had to say and that didn’t work. I have a screen guard which is kind of cracked. I noticed this black screen around 7pm and now it’s 8pm please help me out.
Solution: The best way to deal with this issue is to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then you will have to perform a factory reset. Make sure to have a backup copy of your phone data before doing this reset.
If the screen remains black even in recovery mode then you have no choice but to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related issue.
