Note 4 Lags When Texting

Problem: I am so frustrated with this phone and I have another year before I can get another one and I really do not have the money right now to even purchase a new phone so I am really hoping you can help me with this issue. I bought a new battery thinking it was that and NOPE this battery doesn’t hold a charge either like the other one the phone gets HOT and it lags while I am texting and honestly there is no rhyme or reason to this I have tried to pay attention and see if it was at a certain time but NOPE either when it’s hot or cold or fully charged or half dead it starts to Lag whenever the heck it feels like it and it DRIVES ME NUTS…

Solution:  Since the phone is experiencing lag issues as well heating problems you will need to eliminate any software glitches that could be causing this first. To do this you need to do take out the microSD card of the phone ( if you have one installed), backup your phone data, then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone just yet.

The lag issue will most likely be gone. If the heating issue persists then you will have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Text Messages Lagging And Freezing

Problem: I have a note 4 that I love – since the update some time ago the text messages are severely lagging and freezing especially when I am trying to text and another text comes in .. i read your post on this and did turn on safe mode, had my son send me a long text while I was trying to send a dummy text out, the lagging and freezing did not occur. but while in normal mode it is consistent .. so badly that I have to shut all down and try again. i have reset the phone 2x. I even got a new phone s7 edge but hated it compared to the note 4 so I really wanna resolve this problem to have the note 4 back .. .Any thoughts and suggestions please? Also, I do run 2 businesses off my phone so I am fearful of flashing and resetting again as I will continue to lose important data that cannot be backed up.

Solution: Since you mentioned that the issue does not occur when the phone is started in Safe Mode then a third party app you downloaded might possibly be causing the problem. Try to find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If your phone has a microSD card installed you should also try removing it as this could also be the source of the problem especially if the card has some corrupt sectors.

A factory reset is also recommended in this case. You should however backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install anything in your phone yet. You should first observe if the problem still occurs. If it does even after a fresh reset then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware file. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

Note 4 Unfortunately Messages Has Stopped Error

Problem: “Unfortunately, messages has stopped.” When attempting to open. Cleared the cache, Performed factory reset, removed battery, etc.the default app will not open

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as this might be causing the problem. If the issue remains and since you have already cleared the cache of the messaging app and did a factory reset then this could already be caused by a corrupt software. You should consider flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware file. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
