Note 4 Cannot Send Picture Messages
Problem: I have a Note 4. I just switched to t-mobile from verizon. Everything was good except sending and receiving picture texts. I checked all the usual things and adjusted the APN accordingly. I found all the right settings and entered them all, including one that was recommended for the APN type (default, supl, mms) once i did that, i was able to receive picture texts, but not send. I still cannot send picture texts and am at a loss a far as what else can be corrected. Perhaps the network mode? Any help is appreciated. T-mobile folks had no clue.
Solution: Try checking first if the issue occurs when your phone is started in Safe Mode. When the phone operated in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if you can send a picture message when in this mode. If you can then an app you downloaded might be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue still occurs even in Safe mode then perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Restart the phone then make sure that you have an active mobile data subscription.
- Turn on the phone’s mobile data switch.
- Delete the APN setting in your phone then re-enter it.
- If you are able to go online using your mobile data subscription then try sending a picture message.
- If the issue persists then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Randomly Sending MMS
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has started sending out mms messages to random contacts in my phone. Up to 16 a day which is obviously starting to push up my monthly bill. It doesn’t look like the person is actually receiving the message and when I go into it there’s nothing there. How can I stop them. I had almost hit my 32 gb allowance but I have since deleted a load of stuff and now have 15.4gb used. Please can you help me as Vodafone weren’t interested.
Solution: If your phone sends out MMS messages on its own then this might be caused by a malware or a third party app installed in your phone. To troubleshoot this issue try to start the phone in Safe Mode first. Observe if the issue still occurs when your phone is running in this mode. If your phone doesn’t send out MMS in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then the best thing you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Sent Messages Not Being Received
Problem: I am having issues with other people not receiving my messages and me not always receiving other people’s messages either. I have already tried to factory reset my phone and I am not sure what is causing it. It happens with picture sometimes as well, either they receive a failed message or I receive one from them.
Solution: If the messages are already marked as sent by your phone then the problem could be network related already. You might want to ty to contact your carrier regarding this matter. If possible try using another SIM card in your phone and check if the issue still occurs.
Note 4 Text Message Sent In Asian Characters
Problem: Half the time when I text people they get my messages just fine the other half of the time I’ll text a message and people receiving the message get it in korean ? (Or chinese) it looks English to me but my receivers will get korean/Chinese lettering. It’s very annoying.. I have never traveled outside of u.s with this phone and this happen with everyone I text not just one person
Solution: This is a known issue affecting both iOS and Android devices on the AT&T network. This usually happens when an emoji is added to the text message. The temporary fix to this problem is to not use emoji’s when sending out a text message. AT&T is currently working on a fix to this problem which should be resolved soon.
Note 4 Can’t Send Text And Picture Together After Software Update
Problem: I have a Note 4. Ever since my upgrade I can’t send a text and picture together. Worked great before the upgrade. How do I fix it? I don’t know what version it is?
Solution: This issue usually occurs if you have the VoLTE setting of the phone activated. Open the phone app then tap on more then settings. From the call settings option tap on Voice over LTE and make sure to choose do not use VoLTE.
Note 4 Not Receiving Text Messages
Problem: My note 4 will not receive texts. I can send them out all day long but only rarely can I receive them. I had an issue with my phone not sending any texts for two days then when it finally sent them I could no longer receive them.
Related Problem: I switched from AT&T to Net10 with my note 4. It seems to be an APN problem but not sure. Have tried different APN and one seemed to work briefly but nothing seems to fix the problem. I typically use GOSMS but tried the stock message app too and same issue there so it isn’t the app. The APN on apn.net10.com for my phone didn’t work. I really need to get this working. I can send but cannot receive. Probably a setting but don’t know what.
Related Problem: I am only receiving some text messages from both androids and iphones. We’ll be having a conversation and then there will be some confusion because I didn’t receive one of their texts. It’s gotten to the point now where I use FB messenger because I don’t trust my messages will go through or that i’ll get them all.
Solution: Try to check if the issue occurs when your phone is started in Safe Mode. If the problem doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded to your device. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data after the reset.
If the problem still occurs even after the reset then you should contact your service provider regarding this matter. You may have to try using a different SIM card on your phone to check if the SIM card is causing the problem.
