Motorola adds some new phones to its Android Nougat update list

Android Nougat

With Android 7.1 Nougat already rolling out to a handful of Nexus devices out there, millions of customers are keen to know when their non-Nexus branded phones will get the update. Motorola has some good news for its customers with a few new phones being added to its update list. The company previously mentioned that the Moto Z and the Moto G4 would receive the Nougat update before the end of the year.

Today, the company has added some new devices to the list:

Nexus 6
Moto X Style
Moto X Play
Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen)
Moto X Force
Droid Turbo 2
Droid Maxx 2
Moto G Plus (4th Gen)
Moto G Play (4th Gen)
Moto Z Droid
Moto Z Force Droid
Moto Z Play
Moto Z Play Droid

The Nexus 6 has already received the Nougat update in many regions, so making a mention of it here appears to be a mere formality. Unfortunately, Motorola hasn’t shared a timeline for the rollout of these updates, but we’re guessing it could stretch into early 2017, given that the company is prioritizing the updates for the Moto Z and the Moto G (4th gen) lineup.
