The #HTC10 is the company’s primary flagship right now and a device that is slated to receive the latest and greatest versions of Android. A new report by a reputed HTC source claims that the HTC 10 will be the first smartphone to get the Android 7.0 update, beating rival manufacturers to the punch. The timeline of the update rollout isn’t known yet, but given that the smartphone is already making its way to benchmark databases with Nougat on board, we don’t think the day is far away now.
The source also clarified that the device won’t directly jump to Android 7.1, suggesting that it will have to make the transition from Android 7.0 instead, thus taking the longer route. This means that only the Google Pixel phones right now will be running Android 7.1 on board. But knowing how quickly manufacturers send out software updates these days, it shouldn’t take long for HTC to send out the update to its devices.
Do you own the HTC 10? What do you make of this news?
