Amazon adds ‘Family Vault’ to Prime Photos

Amazon Prime Family Vault

In a bid to become more competitive compared to rival photo sharing sites, #Amazon has added a new “Family Vault” feature to Prime Photos. This is basically an extensive photo/video sharing feature that lets Prime users invite up to five friends or relatives to collaborate/view your photo library.

The members you add don’t have to be Prime subscribers to be able to view content, which is a major bonus. All member of the Family Vault will be able to add unlimited photos to the cloud, while there’s a 5GB limit per user on videos and other files.

This will certainly encourage users of Prime to use the service more often. With offerings like Google Photos currently ruling the roost in the image storage segment, the addition of Family Fault on Prime Photos will certainly shake things up somewhat. The fact that Amazon has apps on Android as well as iOS makes this an exciting prospect for everyone, much like Google Photos.
