The #Sony #XperiaXZ seems to have struck a chord with the Taiwanese populace as pre-orders of the phone have supposedly sold out within just 45 minutes in the region. For those unaware, the Xperia XZ is Sony’s latest flagship offering that is slated to officially hit the markets by October 17. The Xperia XZ is also expected to hit the American markets very soon, but without the fingerprint scanner on board. This is not new to Sony devices as the Xperia Z5 series of phones also saw a similar fate in the region.
As for the hardware, the Xperia XZ comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 820 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 32/64GB of storage (expandable), a 23-megapixel rear camera, a 13-megapixel front camera, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (upgradable to Nougat), and a 2,900 mAh battery. The phone is IP68 certified water/dust resistant, so it’s not your run of the mill flagship offering.
Will the Xperia XZ be as popular in the U.S. as it was in Taiwan? Only time will tell.
