Samsung Gear 360 Pro could launch with the Galaxy S8 next year

Galaxy S7

We learned yesterday that #Samsung could release the #GalaxyS8 a bit earlier than scheduled to divert our attentions from the Galaxy Note 7. It is now being rumored that Samsung might also be prepping the arrival of a new 360-degree video camera along with the new flagship. Apparently dubbed as the Gear 360 Pro, this device will supposedly be an upgrade over the existing Gear 360 camera, perhaps with an upgraded camera sensor and internals.

Details are very scarce right now, as you would imagine. But something like this makes sense as the Gear 360 doesn’t quite cut it for the full-time videographers as it’s merely meant for those who want to make some casual 360-degree videos on their own. But a ‘Pro’ version could probably focus on the high-end spectrum and help Samsung get some serious attention in the VR business. This new camera will also come with iOS support on board, the report says.

There’s no dearth of 360-degree cameras out there. However, something coming from a brand like Samsung would no doubt have a great impact on the market. Do you think releasing a new Gear 360 Pro is a good idea by Samsung?
