The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6Edge which was released last year is one of the high end smartphone models that has excellent features. What makes this phone different from the regular S6 model is its use of a curved display. While the curved edge seem like it only enhances the phone’s design it actually serves as a notification display strip for certain apps. Overall, this is a solid phone that won’t disappoint its owners. There are however instances when certain issues can occur on this device. One issue which we will tackle today is the Galaxy S6 Edge will not charge issue & other related problems.

S6 Edge Will Not Charge
Problem: My phone will not charge. I have tried three different chargers. When I plug in my phone, it keeps vibrating rapidly on and off like it is charging but then it doesn’t end up charging at all, usually at the end of the vibrations, it says “Dock Connected” or something along those lines.
Solution: There are several troubleshooting steps that you need to do to check the exact cause of this problem. Listed below are some of the steps. Move to the next step should the issue still occurs.
- Try cleaning the phone’s’ charging port. Sometimes dirt or debris that gets stuck in this port will interfere with the charging process. Use a can of compressed air or blow into the port using a straw. Once the port is clean try charging your phone.
- Try using a different charging cord when charging your phone. This cord gets easily broken and the one you are using might already be damaged.
- Try using a different wall charger.
- To check if the phone software is causing this problem you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem you should have the phone checked at a service center as this might already be a hardware issue.
S6 Edge Not Fast Charging Can’t Be Detected By PC
Problem: Hello, I have S6 Edge, and it was a gift from my friend, AT&T carrier, and now I am out of USA. It was working perfect, but now it wont connect to PC or laptops at all! It won’t also fast charging! it has other issues with network but it doesn’t matter now. I tried many tricks to resolve the issue of computer connection and fast charging but all of them get failed! I tried many types of cables, they are working perfect with my Note 5 but not with this S6 edge! I reset factory and even formatted the device, but no benefit! I disabled developers options. I turn it on safe mode but failed again! I took it to mobile phones repairing shop, they opened it, the found that cable is good and USB slot is clean but they couldn’t solve the issue! What should I do? Thanks.
Solution: This issue is most likely caused by a defective phone charging port. This port has several pins with specific function. There’s one responsible for data transfer, one for fast charging ( using a wall charger) , and one for slow charging ( using the USB port of a computer). The port or circuit responsible for the data transfer and fast charging function might be damaged. I suggest that you have this checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Heats Up Does Not Charge
Problem: Phone was working. After closing all apps and no use for a few hrs, phone was very hot and wouldn’t turn on. Tried charging but nothing. Ive tried ur troubleshooting but can’t get it to work at all. No safe mode or recovery mode. Was very hot so put it in the fridge to cool down. Once cooled it would heat up again. Really worried as it has precious photos of my newborn baby that i dont have stored anywhere else. Please please please help as i would be heartbroken to have lost these photos.
Solution: If your phone heats up even when it is off then this is a potentially dangerous issue that involves the battery. The battery might be damaged already ( possibly due to a shorted circuit) causing it to heat up. Since this phone has a non-user removable battery I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have this checked. If the battery is found to be defective then replacing it will fix this problem. Once done you will still have access to your photos.
S6 Edge Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: Hello, I dropped my phone in water a few weeks ago and sent it in for repairs, however they stated it was unfixable when it was returned to me (last saturday), however when I charged it, it began to work and has been working perfectly fine for the last couple of days. I was using it this morning at 4am, went back to sleep and woke up and it just won’t turn on. I have tried everything from putting it on charge to pressing all the buttons to put it into recovery or safe mode, however nothing seems to be working. Are there any other suggestions you could give me?
Solution: When a phone gets water damaged the problem doesn’t usually show itself immediately. In some cases it might take days or weeks for the problem to manifest itself. Since your phone is not turning on anymore this point then you will need to bring it at a service center again and have it checked. Have them try out a new battery. If the issue still remains then have them check the power/ charging circuit of the phone. If it’s already the phone motherboard that is damaged then you should consider getting a new device.
S6 Edge Keeps Shutting Off And On
Problem: My phone keeps shutting off and on. If I put in my password the error code comes up. Will not go away. Cannot get into anything on my phone long enough to fix it. Please help!
Solution: What you can do in this case is to try to connect the phone to its charger first then check if the problem will occur. If it doesn’t then this could be power related possibly caused by a defective battery. Have this checked at a service center.
If the issue still occurs even with the charger connected then it’s likely that the issue is caused by a glitch in the phone software. Try starting your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. If this fails to fix the problem then do a factory reset in recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy first before doing this.
S6 Edge Not Reacting After Charging
Problem: Hey guys! So yesterday, i put my phone on charging, and today I woke up, seeing that my phone had just stopped. The night clock function on the screen was on, but it had stopped at 00:23, and the notification light was going off. But my phone does not react to anything that I do. I tried to safe reboot, i pulled out the SIM-card, but it does not react to anything! Please help!
Solution: Try simulating a battery pull first. This procedure is usually performed when a device freezes or does not respond. To do this just press and hold both the power button and volume down key simultaneously for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
If the device is still unresponsive try starting the phone in recovery mode. From here the first thing that you need to do is to wipe the cache partition of your phone. Check if the issue still occurs after this. If it does then I recommend that you do a factory reset also in recovery mode. Take note that the reset will delete all of your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy first.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should have your phone checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Wired Charging Not Working
Problem: My s6 edge is not charging off power lead. It does start to charge on the Samsung wireless charger but seems to stop every so often and needs taking off and putting back on.
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first as sometimes the dirt or debris present in the port can cause charging problems. Use a can of compressed air or blow into the port using a straw to clean it. You should also try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge your phone to verify if the charger is causing the problem. If the phone still doesn’t charge then you should have this checked at a service center.
