S6 Edge Overheats When Charging
Problem: Hi, My Samsung s6 edge overheated on charging in flight mode and now its not starting. I’ve tried resetting (soft and hard) but its not responding at all. I waited for 3 hrs for it to cool down but nothing is happening. I put it on charge for one min and it seems to be heating up again but not responding to any button press. Pls suggest what I can do.
Solution: Since the phone overheats when you charge it then there might be a shorted circuit somewhere. What you can do in this case is to clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. Your aim is to take out any dirt or debris that’s stuck in this port which could cause this issue. You should also try charging your phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
If the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then this could be caused by a faulty battery or damaged charging port. I recommend that you have his checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Not Turning On Unless Connected To Charger
Problem: Hi, I have Samsung S6 Edge and it was damage with water, I did open and clean with spirit and dry with heat gun. It started working perfectly besides the camera, i did change the camera but after 3 or 4 days it started rebooting and now it wont come ON. If you plug in charger it shows 83% battery and it wont go up or down after hours even. Phone does not switched ON on battery but it comes ON if you keep plug in charger but shows only welcome screen i mean “Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge” and reboot again and if you take off the charger it shut down immediately. Your assistance will be highly appreciated.
Solution: The problem is either caused by a component inside your phone that has suffered some water damage ( possibly the battery or the power IC) or some component inside the device got affected when you replaced the camera. The best way to deal with this issue is to have it checked at a service center that specializes in board level repairs.
S6 Edge Stops Fast Charging
Problem: Hi. I am using s6 edge for over one year charging it with the same cable (original one). suddenly after one year it stopped fast charging and immediately after that dropped even slower than normal charge speed. tried with new cable and new fast charging Base = still not charging properly (6 hours to full). Tested old cable and old Base with my sister’s note 4 and fast charging turned on. What can cause this problem, am I forced to replace the port’s board? I know it’s like 10£ for that but that’s the last resort.
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first since dirt or debris stuck in this port can usually cause this type of problem. When cleaning the port use a can of compressed air or blow into it using a straw. If the problem remains then you should check if a glitch in the phone software is causing the problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
In case the above steps fail to fix the problem then it’s possible that the charging port of your phone could be damaged. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: I dipped my Samsung Galaxy s6 edge in the pool by accident and it shut off on me so I put it in rice for a hour but when I tried turn it on it wouldn’t but the led light on the top would just go from pink to purple. What should I do?
Solution: Whenever a phone gets dunked in water the first thing that you should do is to turn the device off. Once it is off place it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture inside the phone.
After 48 hours have passed try to check first if water has entered the device by checking the liquid damage indicator sticker. To do this you need to open the SIM tray Inside you will see a sticker. If it is red or pink in color then the phone has suffered some water damage.
Check if the phone turns on. If it doesn’t then bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Will Not Charge
Problem: My phone will not charge. I have tried three different chargers. When I plug in my phone, it keeps vibrating rapidly on and off like it is charging but then it doesn’t end up charging at all, usually at the end of the vibrations, it says “Dock Connected” or something along those lines.
Solution: Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you can do for this type of issue. Check if the issue occurs after performing each step then move to the next one if it isn’t resolved.
- Clean the charging port of your phone with a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. Your objective is to remove any dirt or debris that could be stuck in this port and is causing the problem.
- Use a different charging cord.
- Use a different wall charger.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then I suggest you have the phone checked at a service center as it could have a damaged charging port.
