S6 Edge Has To Be Charged Several Times A Day
Problem: The battery life is not lasting long and has to be charged several times a day. It has also been turning off when the phone shows roughly 40 percent and needs to be charged. When on the charger showing 86 percent it say 1 min until fully charged. I have another S6 edge and I haven’t had any issues. It started happening recently and not sure if it was after an update. It is also a replacement phone through phone insurance company since the last one was lost. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you in advance.
Solution: There are two probable reasons why this issue is happening. First, a glitch in the phone software is causing the phone’s processor to work overtime resulting in the battery drain. Second, it could be caused by a weak battery that doesn’t hold its usual charge anymore.
To fix this problem you will need to eliminate the software issue first by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have the battery replaced.
S6 Edge Turns Off When Connected to Charger
Problem: I have the Samsung Galaxy s6 edge and now when I plug it in to charge it turns off immediately and will not come back on unless unplugged and will not charge . I did drop it a few times but only problem since I dropped it , which was over 5 months ago , is my home , back , and tab buttons on the bottom don’t work along with front facing camera. Only app I installed or reinstalled in past 24 hrs was kik and driver pulse, a app for a job application. Please let me know if u need anymore info and if u can help
Solution: If any device ( such as a phone) turns off when connected to a power source ( such as a charger) the most likely reason is because of a short circuit or grounding. Try using a different charging cord and wall charge when charging your phone. If the issue is still the same then try cleaning the phone’s charging port using a can of compressed air before charging it. If this doesn’t fix the problem then I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Not Turning On After Drop In Toilet
Problem: Dropped phone in toilet. Immediately retrieved and powered off. Screen flicked before going off. Put in rice 3 days. Will not charge. When charger attached it will come on normally, but after 5-6 seconds goes off. No warning messages on screen. When charging, battery symbol shows empty and never turns green even after charging for days. I feel the phone would work normally if battery would charge or if I could replace w/new battery. Unfortunately, can not replace this battery! I’m sure warranty is void. Is there a solution? Is there a way to replace battery since warranty is probably void now anyway. Thank you for your help.
Solution: This issue is most likely caused by water damage. In this case you can’t really be sure if the battery is causing the problem or some other internal component that got shorted when coming in contact with water. The best way to proceed in this case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Randomly Shuts Off Does Not Turn On
Problem: My phone randomly shut off in the middle of trying to sync my emails. Afterwards it tried to restart, but it keeps making it to the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge screen and powered by android. It stays on that screen for a while then the screen goes black. While this is going on the little light in the top left corner of the phone is lit up white and will occasionally switch to and orange/yellow color. Then the light will go back to white. I have tried to hold the power button down to shut it off, nothing happens. I have also tried to take the steps to do a soft reset and also a hard reset, but nothing seems to phase it.
Solution: Try connecting your phone to its wall charger first then see if it turns on with the charger connected. If it doesn’t then check if you are able to start the phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode I suggest you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy first before doing this.
If the issue still remains then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this might already be a hardware related problem.
S6 Edge Stuck In Samsung Logo After Software Update
Problem: Hello, i was updating my s6 edge SM-G925F to android 6.0 via pc after the download was completed the phone reboots and then it is stuck on samsung logo does not even switch off. tried all the ways to switch it off it doesn’t even goes to recovery mode i tried volume down plus home plus power key and volume up plus home plus power key and volume up and power key but nothing works here it just reboots and comes back to the samsung logo i tried to update the software after putting my phone to download mode but after all the download it comes back to the same page. Your help would be greatly appreciated
Solution: It looks like the update corrupted the phone software. Since the phone can’t access the recovery mode which would have been great since you can do a factory reset from here the best way to proceed right now is to manually flash your phone with its updated stock firmware. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
