S6 Can’t Connect To Internet Using Mobile Data
Problem: I got a galaxy S6 from my son. He upgraded to a S7. He is on Verizon. I activated on Tracfone on their BYOP program. Everything seems fine except that I can’t connect to the internet with data. Tracfone says I don’t need APN on their CDMA network. Did a reset but didn’t help. Any ideas?
Solution: Try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the phone has any data signal. If you can’t get any data signal then try to check the network mode of your phone. You can get to this mode by tapping on Apps on the home screen then going to Settings – Mobile Networks – Network Mode. Try to check the Internet connection when the connection mode of the phone is set to Global, LTE CDMA, and LTE/GSM/UMTS.
S6 Not Remembering Wi-Fi Passwords
Problem: I have an AT&T Samsung S6 that is unlocked for carrier. The issue with the phone is that the wifi does not remember the passwords for the wifi networks that I have previously signed into. There are times where it stores the passwords and connects automatically but other times it doesn’t remember the password and I have to re-enter the password. I cannot do a soft reset as I can’t remove the battery so any assistance with this issue would be greatly helpful.
Solution: In most cases this issue is caused by a problem with the way the phone accesses the password in the secure storage of your phone. You can try forgetting the Wi-Fi network then adding it again. If this doesn’t work then the best thing to do next is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This will fix the secure storage in the EFS partition where the passwords are stored.
S6 Not Remembering Wi-Fi Password Even After A Factory Reset
Problem: Hi there, I recently bought a galaxy s6 (android version 5.1.1) and have had 2 issues which I really need assistance with. 1- my phone is not saving my wi-fi passwords; so every time I restart my phone, take it off of airplane mode or re-enter a wi-fi area, my phone does not automatically connect! 2-I’ve been getting a message (related to Knox software I think) that tells me Unauthorized actions have been detected. Restart your phone to undo any unauthorized changes. Despite, performing a factory reset on the phone, I still have these 2 issues. Can you help? Thanks!
Solution: If factory resetting the phone does not resolve this issue then the next step is to flash the phone with its. updated stock firmware file. You will need to root your phone to do this first. Once the phone is rooted make a backup copy of the phone’s EFS partition using TWRP. Use the root file explorer to delete ss_data in /efs. Reboot the phone. You can now flash your phone. Instructions on how to flash your device can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S6 No Internet Connection
Problem: Hi, So my issue is that my samsung galaxy s6 is connected to the internet but it still has the notification that there is no internet connection. Both the wi-fi connection and 4g work fine but my phone still says I don’t have internet when I do. Normally I wouldn’t care that much since I have the internet but the notification is blocking the bottom half of my phone where my most used apps (phone, email, text, camera) are located. I tried a bunch of the troubleshooting that I read from other people’s experiences but nothings worked so far.
Solution: Try checking if the same issue occurs when your phone is started in Safe Mode. If your phone can connect to the Internet while in Safe Mode then the issue is most likely caused by an app you downloaded in your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the problem occurs even in Safe Mode then perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Try connecting your phone to a different Wi-Fi network. If the phone can connect to the Internet then the issue might be with your router.
- Check if you have an active mobile data subscription.
- Make sure your phone is using the correct APN settings.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S6 Slow Wi-Fi Connection
Problem: I have had a samsung s6 for about 4 months now and it has been working perfectly. However, recently my family upgraded to virgin media hub 3.0 and my phone gets very slow wifi. This is also the case on my tablet(samsung tab S2). The rest of the people in my house all have Apple devices and the wifi works perfectly on them. I’ve tried a factory reset of the modem to no avail. Wifi works perfectly on my phone in other houses or areas though. So i am wondering if it is a problem with my phone or should i contact virgin media about it?
Solution: You should try forgetting the Wi-Fi network from your phone then connect to it again. Make sure that your phone is the only device connected to the router when checking the Internet speed. If necessary you can run an Internet speed test by downloading a speed test app at the Google Play Store. If the issue remains then you should contact Virgin media regarding this issue.
