Note 5 Screen Became Unresponsive
Problem: Samsung note 5 Screen became unresponsive and upon reboot left upper corner became purple. Now almost the rest of the screen has a purple mask going over screen. Pressing apps or keys on phone are unresponsive. Recently phone updated to new software. Ran extremely hot when it froze.
Solution: For this issue I’d recommend that you backup your phone data first then do a factory reset ( preferably from the recovery mode). This way you can immediately check if the phone software is causing this problem. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone yet. Check if the issue still occurs. If it does then there’s a possibility that your phone has a damaged display assembly. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
Note 5 Only Works With S Pen
Problem: Hello my screen for my Note 5 is now not recognizing my finger and only works with my S Pen. I’m starting to think it is due to the fact that I would keep my phone in the shower with me in the area where it really does not get wet. Could the moisture of the showering be causing this? and for now what do you recommend I do to get my screen to be working with my finger again? Please and thank you for your time.

Solution: It’s possible that the moisture has damaged the phone digitizer. To fix this issue you should first check if this is caused by a glitch in the phone software by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If after the reset the issue still remains then there’s a possibility that the digitizer is damaged. Have this checked at a service center.
Note 5 Vertical Lines In Display
Problem: My Note 5 is less than a year old; I bought a brand new factory unlocked international version (which subsequently does not have a warranty). The phone is in pristine cosmetic condition and I have looked after it well.A few weeks ago, half the screen began to display faint vertical lines. Help! Would you know how to rectify this?
Solution: Try to check if the same issue occurs when you phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone yet. Check first if you still see vertical lines. If the lines are still present then this could already be a hardware problem possibly caused by an issue with the display. I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center if this is the case.
Note 5 Screen not Working Properly When Using Touch Input
Problem: For some days now, anytime I tap on my screen, something else happens. I may try to swipe across, but an app in say the lower right section of the phone will open. My only temporary solution is by using the S-pen to do all my duties, but you can imagine how frustrating it is texting, as a pen cannot move that swiftly across the keyboard UI. I’d really like a solution for this issue because I’m almost at my hair’s end. Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon.
Solution: You need to check first if the phone software is causing this issue by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. After the reset do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then it’s possible that the phone has a faulty digitizer. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
Note 5 Purple Smudges On Screen
Problem: Purple smudges have appeared on the right edge of the screen, almost at the center of its longer side. The main one is almost 20 mm long and 2 mm wide. I was using a mobile holder with spring loaded clamps. Please provide remedy. Thank you.
Solution: The clamps might have damaged the display causing the purple smudges to appear. Try to start your phone in Safe Mode then check if the smudges still appear. If it still appears then you should bring your phone to a service center as it’s possible that this is already a hardware issue.
