The #Galaxy #Note4 for example which was released in 2014 running on Android KitKat has now been updated to Android Marshmallow. These updates are meant to improve the performance of the phone as well as enhance its features. While getting the update is easy sometimes issues can occur. This is what we will be addressing today as we tackle the Galaxy Note 4 Marshmallow downloaded but won’t install issue & other related problems.

Note 4 Marshmallow Downloaded But Won’t Install
Problem: I have a galaxy note 4 at&t, I have the notification that marshmallow has been downloaded but won’t let me install, it is telling me to delete 2913.32 mb of stuff before I install so I deleted apps/photos and now have almost 7gb of free storage and it still is telling me to delete 2913.32 mb of storage, I’ve tried clearing cache and a soft reset and it hasn’t changed
Solution: One common reason why an update will not install even if it has already been downloaded is because of insufficient internal storage space. You will need to free up some space to resolve this issue.
To free up some space try any of the following listed below.
- Uninstall apps that you rarely use. These apps are just using up your storage space.
- Move your files ( photos, movies, music) from the internal storage to the microSD.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If you reset your phone you will need to download the update again then install it.
Note 4 Not Updating To Marshmallow
Problem: Hello, i have note 4 at least 3 months , and i don’t still have update my device n910f i tap on “update now” and nothing happening i tap 2 or 3 times again he doesn’t even wanna check will it available to update to marshmallow
Solution: There are several conditions that has to be met in order for your phone to get the update.
- Your phone must not be rooted
- Your phone must be running on its original software and not a custom software
- If the phone comes from a certain carrier then it should be running on this carrier.
If your device meets all of the above conditions and you are still not getting the update then you should try backing up your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete immediately check for the update. If no update is available then connect your phone to a computer with Kies or Smart Switch installed then use the software to update your device.
One last step you should consider is to manually flash the updated firmware file to your phone. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
Note 4 Pattern Unlock Not Working After Marshmallow Update
Problem: I accepted the Marshmallow 6.0.1 update for my galaxy note 4, but when it was finished the phone no longer accepted my pattern unlock code. I was finally able to unlock the phone using the samsung find my mobile website, but I cannot reset the security code on my phone it asks for my old code, but tells me that my old code is wrong. Also, if my phone locks, I have to use the website to unlock it. Is there a way to fix this, or did the new update have a particular code associated with it that I could use like a temporary password to reset my code?
Solution: Several owners of this model ( however not all phone owners are experiencing this problem) have been experiencing this very same issue wherein they get locked out of their device after performing the Marshmallow update. A temporary solution to this issue is to head out over at the findmymobile.samsung.com then lock and unlock the device. A permanent fix for this is to check for another software update which should resolve this issue. You should also consider backing up your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Unlocked AT&T Not Updating To Marshmallow
Problem: I have the note 4 that I got from AT&T. I finished my contract, got the phone unlocked and am currently using crickett. I cannot update to marshmallow even trying to use an AT&T sim and did a factory data reset. For some reason I am on Baseband version N910AUCU2DOI2 even though I always updated my phone promptly and I remember getting some updates even after going to crickett unless I am misremembering. I am stuck on this version and idk what to do.
Solution: The other possible factors that can prevent your phone from getting the software update is if your phone is rooted or if it is running on a custom software. Try connecting your phone to a computer with Kies or Smart Switch installed then check if you are able to update your phone using the software. If it doesn’t update then you should consider manually flashing the phone with its updated firmware file. Instructions on how to flash your device can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
Note 4 Messages App Very Slow
Problem: The messages app and keyboard in general is very slow and laggy to the point that when you type letters they show up several seconds later in bursts. This has been happening ever since I updated my Galaxy Note 4 to Android 6.0.1
Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of the messaging app as this will usually resolve issues such as this.
If the issue still occurs then you should check if an app you installed is causing the issue by starting the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone is running in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
Should the above steps fail then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Unfortunately emergency manager services has stopped Error
Problem: I have/had a Galaxy Note 4, for about 2 years now. Love the phone but recently when I turn the phone on, within seconds I get the message “Unfortunately emergencymanagerservices has stopped”. The home screen then goes from color to black and white. Everything thing works but just no color. Have restarted, removed battery and replaced, and taken phone to Verizon store for assistance. As yet, no joy. Problem continues. Messaging pictures also without color. Any ideas?
Solution: For this particular issue I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then it’s possible that this is a hardware issue already. Have this checked at a service center that can do board level repairs.
Note 4 Bluetooth Messaging Not Working After Marshmallow Update
Problem: I updated to Marshmallow on my note 4 and now my car is telling me they my phone doesn’t support bluetooth messaging. It worked fine before. I also see that my phone operates slower now. I haven’t seen any benefits from Marshmallow.
Solution: Since your phone is having Bluetooth messaging issue as well as lag issues I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This will delete any old software data that’s usually causing this problem.
Note 4 Freezing Not Starting
Problem: Hi ! I have some rather strange issues with my note 4. Do note that up until this day, my phone was running flawlessly and I was super happy with it. I’ll try and be as comprehensive as possible without being to heavy to read. My phone started freezing few days ago, and when i tried restarting it by holding the power button it wouldn’t restart. I had to take the battery out to shut it down. Then I would press the power button, sometimes it will power on perfectly fine, other times will simply not turn on (!) and others will turn on but will take me to a screen showing the android guy and saying Downloading do not turn off target , and freeze there. After many attempts to resolve issues, I ended up doing a factory reset. I also did a cache wipe. However, it continues doing funny things. It wont show me the downloading do not turn off target screen, but it might not switch on, and is lagging a lot. And sometimes, it will restart by its own. Any ideas?? My last solution is changing the battery i guess! Thank you!!
Solution: You should definitely try replacing your phone battery with a new one. If the problem still occurs after this then bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware problem.
