The #MotoG4Play is now officially available in the U.S. through a multitude of retailers for just $149.99. Amazon, however, is offering a special “Prime exclusive” version of the device for just $99.99. The main caveat here is that the retailer will shower your lock screen with ads or “special offers”, hence justifying the $50 discount. It’s not a bad bargain, really.
Amazon, as well as B&H Photo Video, Motorola etc will start taking pre-orders for the phone right away with shipments slated to commence on September 15. So there’s still some time left to get your hands on Moto-Lenovo’s newest budget offering. There will be a Verizon Prepaid version of the phone as well.
The handset is a slightly toned down version of the Moto G4 and the G4 Plus, so you’re not getting much in terms of hardware. The retailers are offering the 16GB version of the phone. It also comes with a 5-inch 720p display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC, 2GB of RAM, expandable storage, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and a 2,800 mAh battery.
