Samsung Gear IconX launch pushed to Aug 19

Gear Icon X

#Samsung unveiled the Gear IconX headphones back in June, but availability wasn’t expected to begin until mid-August. Perhaps Samsung was waiting for the Galaxy Note 7 to hit the markets before launching these headphones.

Well, while the original arrival date was set for August 14, the company has now delayed the release until August 19. This coincides with the arrival of the Galaxy Note 7 and the Gear 360 VR, so it appears like Samsung wants to release all its new devices on the same day, which might not necessarily be a bad ploy.

The Gear IconX is completely wireless and is hence powered by Bluetooth 4.1. It is also capable of playing music on its own, with the ability to store up to 1,000 MP3 files. This means you don’t necessarily have to be connected to your device in order to have seamless playback. Further, it comes with an accelerometer and a heart-rate sensor, so it’s pretty much a fitness accessory. The Gear IconX is currently on pre-order for $199.99. Are you going to pick one up or pre-order the IconX? Let us know in the comments below.
