Google Duo has already crossed 5 million installs

Google Duo

#Google CEO Sundar Pichai has announced that the recently launched #GoogleDuo video chat platform has already crossed 5 million installs on Android. This is quite a feat for Google given the kind of skepticism we saw for the new app. Given the presence of Skype, Facebook, and several other prominent video chat apps, the arrival of Duo seemed redundant.

But clearly, people have been willing to try it out at least once to know what the fuss is all about. Duo is fairly simple in its functionality and that’s pretty much what most people need from a video chat application. It’s a free download, so make sure you give it a go from the Play Store if you’re yet to try it out.

Google has mentioned that a new update to Duo will push it to version number 1.0.1. This new version won’t bring any new features to the table, but will apparently fix some pre-existing bugs. Have you tried Google Duo yet? What do you make of it?
