First-gen Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE getting the Marshmallow update in Europe

Galaxy Tab S 10.5

#Samsung has started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE in Europe. Well, Germany to be more specific. This comes on the heels of the company mentioning that the update will not be sent out to the first-gen Galaxy Tab S models in Europe. Naturally, this has taken quite a few of us by surprise, although we’re not going to complain.

The update is about 812MB in size, so make sure you remain on a WiFi network in order to avoid hefty carrier charges in your region. The rollout of this update suggests that other regions might not be far away from getting it. So if you happen to be an owner of the first-gen Galaxy Tab S 10.5 with LTE, don’t lose hope just yet.

In terms of new features, there’s no changelog available, but we can ascertain that the update will come with all the Marshmallow features that one would expect, including Google Now on Tap, enhanced app permissions and some Samsung specific features as well.
