Chinese retail store confirms Moto Mods support for the Moto Z Play

Moto Z Play

A Chinese retailer has seemingly jumped the gun and put out advertising material for the yet to be released Moto Z Play. While this pretty much confirms what we already know, the mention of the Moto Mods support has certainly come as a surprise to us. Given that the Moto Z Play is expected to be a mid-ranged offering, not many expected to see this feature on board, but we’re not going to complain.

The image reveals the JBL SoundBoost module as well as the Hasselblad camera module, suggesting that both will be available sometime during the launch. The JBL audio module is currently available in the U.S. for about $80.

A separate leak on Twitter has seemingly confirmed that the device will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow (duh) and also tipped a September 6 release for the device. This is also something that we’ve heard about in the tech sphere, so everything seems to be falling in place with regards to Moto-Lenovo’s new mid-ranged powerhouse.
