According to a new rumor, Japanese manufacturer #Sony will have at least one flagship offering to show off at the IFA 2016 in Berlin this September. As you know, the IFA events every year showcase the best of technological innovations in the world. Each year, we’ve seen Samsung showcasing the Galaxy Note handsets, but that won’t be the case this year as the Galaxy Note 7 is scheduled for an early August release.
So how will Sony’s new flagship fit in? It has been said that the company is minimizing its ambitions in the low-end and mid-ranged market segments, so one or two flagships per year is probably the way to go. Not much is known about this flagship in terms of hardware features, but we’re expecting it to be on par with most modern day flagships. That should include a Quad HD (or 4K) display, a Snapdragon 821 SoC, 4 or 6GB of RAM and Android Marshmallow with the promise of an update to Android Nougat.
Sony has released the Xperia X series of handsets a few months ago. So we’re expecting this to be a truly powerful flagship in order to appeal to the global audiences. Do you think a Sony flagship would strike a chord with you?
