Samsung Galaxy S7 Active fails water-resistance test twice

Galaxy S7 Active

The #Samsung #GalaxyS7Active is marketed as a rugged version of the #GalaxyS7 and the S7 edge. However, a water-resistance test conducted by Consumer Reports has proven otherwise. The folks at the firm saw that the handset failed the test not once, but twice. This goes to show that there might be some flaw in the design of the device which is allowing water to seep through.

It was noticed that the display was damaged in both cases, although in the second attempt, a mere flicker in the screen was observed. This, however, is enough to consider the water-resistance a failure. Samsung is yet to officially respond to this, but we expect to get a word or two from the Korean juggernaut soon.

Consumer Reports mentions that the Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge previously passed the tests with flying colors, so it seems like the problem is only limited to the Active model. The Galaxy S7 Active was released not too long ago and is exclusive to AT&T in the U.S.
