Samsung Galaxy Note 4 No Internet Connection Issue & Other Related Problems

Note 4 No Internet Connection

Problem: I have a GSM unlocked note 4 from at&t on t-mobile network t-mobile says I have great 4G lte but I’m having trouble with my network ie no Internet connection very slow data speeds and dropped calls text not sending and not receiving incoming texts or calls at time everyone else in the house has great service I’ve called t-mobile several times and have had no luck new Sim cards checked apn and pretty much am at my wits end with it and there honestly not much help at t-mobile also since it’s unlocked if I buy a at&t Sim card can I update my phone os without losing my unlocked for any carrier if I do that will it take away the phone being unlocked for use on t-mobile

Solution: If your phone is unlocked then you can get an AT&T SIM and update the phone software without losing its unlock status. Updating the phone software is required so your phone will be running on the latest version. Once you have done this you should check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done make sure the phone is using the correct APN settings before connecting to your mobile data network.

Note 4 Not Connected To Network

Problem: I recently noticed I stopped getting notifications/ messages on my phone either when people send me mails or Blackberry messages e.t.c (Anything that requires internet connection). I checked the notification bar and noticed my BBM status showed ”Connecting”. I then went to settings to check if I was connected to my WIFI, which I was. I turned the WIFI connection on my phone off and back on and then the messages started dropping in. I have found out I need to this every time now in order for me to get my messages / notifications. This is definitely not right. Any suggestions and assistance will be most appreciated.  NB: I recently factory reset my phone but that has not helped.

Solution: Have you tried checking if this issue occurs only on a particular Wi-Fi network? Try connecting your phone to another Wi-Fi network then check if the same issue occurs. If it doesn’t then the issue could be with the router or the ISP. Turn off the router then turn it back on after a minute. Check if the issue still occurs.

If the problem occurs when the phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network then try using you mobile data connection. If the issue doesn’t occur in this mode then there might be a problem with the Wi-Fi antenna or circuit of your phone. You should have this checked at a service center if this is the case.

Note 4 No 4G LTE Signal

Problem: Hi, my phone set was working fine with our 2G network & still is even after update. I then applied for 4G LTE from my service provider & they gave me a new sim to support the same. LTE is also showing under mobile networks & I have selected that too but device is still connecting on Internet thru 2G. The 4G sign is still not showing. I have already tried switching between LTE and GSM like u suggested on your website but problem still as it is. Plz help!

Solution: Try restarting your phone with the new SIM card installed. Once your phone has started make sure that the network mode is set to use LTE.

  • Tap the settings icon.
  • Tap Mobile networks.
  • Tap Network mode.
  • Tap LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)

Next, make sure that your phone is using the correct APN settings to connect to the LTE network of your carrier. Get the correct settings from your carrier then compare this from the one set in your phone. Make the necessary changes in your device if needed.

If your phone still can’t connect to the LTE network then have your carrier check the SIM provisioning since it might not be activated to connect to LTE.

Note 4 Apps Only Connecting In 3G

Problem: The apps on my phone that connect to the Internet will not connect when my phone says I am on LTE, but when I am on 3G (restricting to CDMA 3G only) they work fine.  I can surf the Web on a browser on LTE,  but apps don’t work.  I have tried a soft reset, a hard reset and have spoken to my Carrier who “refreshed my device”.  None has any success. Please help! Oh I spoke to a guy in a  store next to my work (he’s a friend) and he said he has no clue after trying a few things.

Solution: Try to check if an app installed in your phone is causing this problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. Make sure that you have an LTE signal in this mode then use one of the pre-installed apps and check if you can go online with it. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem still occurs then try checking if your phone is running on the latest software version. If it isn’t then update it accordingly. You should also try using a different SIM card in your phone to check if the issue is account/SIM related.

Note 4 No Internet Connection When Connected to Wi-Fi

Problem: When I am connected to WiFi and I tap to check the weather it’s giving me a message ‘no Internet connection’ and I am connected. The same with Facebook.  No Internet message while I am connected. Started lately. Thank you

Solution:  Try connecting your phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then the problem could be with the previous network. Try forgetting the network from your phone then restart both the phone and the router. Once both devices have started search for the network again then connect to it.

If the problem still occurs even when the phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step should the current step you performed fail to fix the problem.

  • Check if an app is causing this issue. Start the phone in Safe Mode. While the phone is operating in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it might be caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 Mobile Data Disconnecting

Problem: I am using Samsung Note 4 edge with the mobile operator Airtel 4g. When I use mobile data it is active only for some minutes say 10 min or so and after that it’s disconnecting even though the E or H+ symbol is appearing. When I try to turn it off and turn on again then the symbol itself is not appearing.I have to restart my phone to make this mobile data work. I have tried resetting my phone also which still did not resolve my issue. ANY help would be appreciated

Note : When I use Airtel or other networks the problem is not there. Also if I use my sim in some other phone it’s working properly

Solution: Try checking first if this issue occurs only in a particular area. If it doesn’t occur when you are in a different location then this could be a signal related issue wherein the phone is not getting a strong signal from the network towers.

If the problem occurs regardless of where you are then I suggest you do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.
