A new leak has revealed images of the #MotoZPlay, which is the company’s cheaper variant of the Moto Z. The image reveals a design quite similar to the Moto Z, so we shouldn’t expect a lot different in terms of appearance. However, the build quality might be of a slightly lower quality than what we’ve seen on the Moto flagship.
It’s interesting that one of the screenshots reveals the app menu showing Moto Mods, indicating that the accessory will be supported on the cheaper Moto devices as well. A rumor previously mentioned that unlike the Moto Z, the Moto Z Play would sport a 3.5mm headphone jack. This makes sense since the handset is primarily targeted towards the mid-ranged market segment.
In terms of hardware, rumors and benchmark listings have mentioned that the handset will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display, an octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC, 3GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The handset also has a front facing LED flash for selfies.
