A handful of Nexus devices including the Nexus 5, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 7 2013, Nexus 9, Nexus Player and the Pixel C are now receiving the July security update. Surprisingly, the #BlackBerryPriv is also seeing the July patch as of now. This makes BlackBerry one of the first third-party OEMs to send out the update to its devices.
The update won’t come with a lot of new features on board as it’s merely a security patch. But given how serious Android security is these days, every small update matters. Not all of the aforementioned devices will receive the update right away, so don’t be surprised if you’re not seeing the update right away.
The security updates patches pertinent bugs and might bring some minor performance improvements as well. Already seeing the update on your BlackBerry Priv or the Nexus phones/tablets mentioned above? Sound off in the comments below.
