BlackBerry likely to share details on upcoming smartphone next week

#BlackBerry is not exactly a flourishing company right now. The #Priv hasn’t been a success for the company as we all know, but we could be hearing about a new device as early as next month. We must mention that it’s unlikely that a new device will be shown off next week, but it is expected that the company CEO, John Chen will provide information on where the hardware division is headed.

It was previously said that BlackBerry would have to sell 5 million smartphones each year in order to remain relevant in the industry. While the Priv might not have helped the company achieve that target, perhaps the company can focus more on mid-ranged and budget devices to drive sales.

Chen also hinted that the company might not be putting all its eggs in one basket. He said that BlackBerry makes more than just hardware, hinting that its software and services might be something that the company would focus on going forward.
