AT&T sending out WiFi Calling update to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge

Galaxy S7

AT&T is now sending over the WiFi Calling update for the #Samsung #GalaxyS7 and the #GalaxyS7edge. It’s a little baffling that it has taken the carrier so long to enable WiFi Calling for the devices while most older smartphones are already packing the feature. But better late than never, I guess. Well, in terms of new features, you shouldn’t see much here as the update only brings WiFi Calling to the fore.

If there are some extra features on board, it will mostly be with regards to some minor carrier related patches. Samsung reserves the bigger features for separate updates. But since this is coming directly from AT&T, this appears to be the extent of the new additions.

Given that there’s finally support for WiFi Calling on the two flagships now, one would say that this isn’t necessarily a minor update, but an update that is long overdue. The update is about 600MB in size.

Are you seeing this on your AT&T Galaxy S7 or the S7 edge yet? Sound off in the comments below.
