The #ASUS #ZenFone3Deluxe will supposedly have the honor of being the first handset to pack the latest Snapdragon 821 chipset. The SoC was announced yesterday by #Qualcomm. The ZenFone 3 Deluxe was announced a couple of months ago but hasn’t seen an official launch yet. With this news now breaking, it seems like ASUS deliberately delayed the release so as to use the Snapdragon 821 chipset, which is an incremental upgrade over the Snapdragon 820.
It was speculated that the Galaxy Note7 will be the first device to feature a Snapdragon 821 SoC, but that probably won’t be the case going by this report. Samsung has already scheduled an August 2 launch event of the Note7, although it’s not confirmed if the Note flagship will be featuring the new Qualcomm chipset.
The ZenFone 3 Deluxe packs a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, 64/128/256GB of expandable storage, 4 or 6GB of RAM, a 23-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and a 3,000 mAh battery. The handset will be available in Taiwan soon, with no word on a global release yet.
