Alcatel Idol 4s with a VR headset launching in the U.S. this Friday for $350

Alcatel Idol 4s with VR

Virtual reality is a very popular niche today. We have seen multiple manufacturers taking to multiple reality in a bid to appeal to their respective fan base. #Alcatel is taking this to a different level with its new Idol 4s.

This handset features a very attractive hardware specs sheet and the company will even bundle a VR headset along with it. All for just $350. The smartphone will be available for purchase from the company’s dedicated online store starting July 15 from 8AM (Pacific Time) onwards.

What’s unique about this device is that the box that contains the device is also VR headset. It’s designed in such a way that it can contain all the items that are supplied with the device (which includes a pair of JBL in-ear headphones, by the way) while also being a full-blown VR headset. It is apparently very similar to the Samsung Gear VR, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

As for the smartphone itself, you’re getting a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, an octa-core Snapdragon 652 SoC, 32GB of storage, 3GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, a fingerprint scanner, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and a 3,000 mAh battery. The company is also promising to send out the Android Nougat update.

Clearly, the Idol 4s is no slouch in the hardware and software department, which means it should give industry rivals a run for their money. Do you like what you see here?
