Samsung Galaxy S7 Active now official; launching exclusively via AT&T on June 10

Galaxy S7 Active

Samsung’s #GalaxyS7Active is finally official. The smartphone has been rumored for quite some time now and the Korean manufacturer has officially unveiled the handset in the U.S. As expected this is an AT&T exclusive, so there’s not a lot different in terms of availability with this year’s model. The Galaxy S7 Active can be considered a sturdier and an improved version of the Galaxy S7. Here’s why.

Well, the handset comes with a shatter-proof 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, the quad-core Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, a 12-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and a 4,000 mAh battery. So not only is the handset more durable, it also comes with a bigger battery under the hood. Water and dust resistance are present here as well, much like the standard Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge.

If there’s one downside, it’s that the speakers are located right at the bottom. This, again, is no different from the Galaxy S7 or the S7 edge, although we would have liked a slightly different approach from the company. The handset will be available for purchase via AT&T from the 10th of June with an asking price of $26.50 for 30 months via AT&T Next or for $33.13/month via AT&T Next Every Year for 24 months. You can purchase the Galaxy S7 Active from AT&T’s official listing here.
