S6 Will Not Turn On Issue
Problem: the phone will not turn on at all. we have tried every step that we could possibly find when we googled this issue. The phone had 60% battery left and the next minute it was dead and won’t turn back on at all. the phone was just purchased in Nov 2015 so it is barely 6 months old.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this scenario is to simulate a battery pull. This can be done by pressing and holding both the power button and volume down button for at least 7 seconds. If all goes well the phone should restart.
In case the phone still stays off follow the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step should the issue still occur.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or you can also blow to it using a straw. What you want to accomplish is to take out any dirt or debris that could be in this port and is causing the problem. Try to charge the phone for at least 20 minutes then turn it on.
- Use a different charging cord and charger to charge your phone ( at least 20 minutes). Turn on the device.
If the above steps fail then this could already be a hardware related issue. I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center if this is the case.
S6 Not Turning On After Getting Rained On
Problem: I am not sure what to do, please help. Today my phone got rained on, however it was working perfectly fine for a good hour, then it refused to lock the screen when i pressed the power button, however when holding down would give the option to turn the phone off etc. an hour later i charged the phone, came back to it and the phone would not turn on at all. it has a red LED light on, and i noticed that within the front camera lens there was some water vapour condensed on the inside. i tried all the methods online to try and boot the phone such as pressing down all the volume buttons but it still would not give any response thank you, please reply soon
Solution: Since you are seeing some condensation in the inside of your phone it’s possible that it has been water damaged. Ty to dry your phone first by placing it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone which in turn will eliminate the condensation. After the 48 hours are over try to turn on your phone. If it does not turn on then try charging it for at least 20 minutes before attempting to turn it on again.
If the above steps fail then you should have your phone checked at a service center as the chances of the device being water damaged is high.
S6 Stuck In Boot Loop
Problem: My phone failed to turn on. At first, it kept alternating between the android and Verizon screens. After many various reboot attempts, now it has a robot icon with a spinning arrow that says “installing system update.” I’ve been told that it’s stuck in a boot loop and that the only solution is to do a factory reset which would clear all my data. I do not want to lose 6 months worth of irreplaceable pictures (including our 1st family Disneyland trip). Isn’t there some way to fix the phone without losing the pictures? (I will now start using the cloud.)
Solution: Unfortunately in this case the best thing to do is a factory reset. This however is not an assurance that the issue will be resolved. If the reset fails then you will have to consider flashing your phone with its stock firmware. Both options will delete any data stored in your phone.
If you don’t want to lose your data then you can try to connect your phone to its charger then check if it boots normally. This allows you to verify if the issue is caused by the battery not supplying the correct voltage to the phone. Another option you should consider is to connect your phone to a computer with Smart Switch running. If your phone is detected then you will be able to make a backup of your data.
S6 Fell In Water Does Not Turn On
Problem: hey, my s6 fell into the water and it doesn’t turn it on, i asked people if they can fix it but all of them said they can’t , i understand if the phone can’t be fixed but is there anyway that i can get the data that was it music pictures videos.etc
Solution: If your phone does not turn on then there’s no way for you to retrieve the data stored in it. If you want to retrieve your data then you must work on getting your phone on first. Bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. I suggest having them replace the battery first to check if this is causing the problem.
S6 Turns Off Does Not Turn On
Problem: Hi, I have the Samsung s6 international version. While my phone was just sitting around on standby i realised the phone had turned off and I couldn’t turn it back on so I put it on charge because I thought that i may have not charged it properly but when connected I noticed no charging display came so I just left it plugged in and came back 30min later and found phone was very hot and I still could not get anything to happen at all. So that’s all there is I can’t boot, charge or anything it’s just completely dead and I tried every button combination and just nothing and still gets hot if I plug it in. Any help or advice would be appreciated and my warranty is out so I can not return. Thanks
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air. This takes out any dirt or debris that could be present in the port which could be causing the problem. Next, use a different charging cord and wall charger when charging the phone. Leave the phone charging for at least 20 minutes. If the issue remains then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center as this could already be a hardware related problem.
