We know by now that the #OnePlus3 will be available for purchase on the 14th or 15th of June, with the announcement scheduled for the 14th. In order to tap into its loyal fan base, OnePlus has announced that it will make about 1,000 units of the new flagship available for pre-booking on the 6th of June for those who cannot wait for the official launch. Units will be shipped only on or after June 15, however.
The users will have to pay 2,999 CNY or $456 for the smartphone, which is quite steep compared to the originally expected pricing. Keeping this in mind, OnePlus has promised that it will reimburse the difference amount once the official pricing is unveiled. It’s likely that the company is offering the high-end model here which is rumored to be packing 6GB of RAM on board. If that is indeed the case, paying about $450 shouldn’t be unreasonable.
We’re not sure about the reasoning behind this, but it seems like OnePlus is trying to generate hype and buzz for its newest offering ahead of the official release in about a couple of weeks from now. What do you make of this? Will you be pre-booking the OnePlus 3 for $450?
