NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1 getting a new update with enhanced audio features on board

The #ShieldTabletK1 is now the recipient of a new update which brings forth a multitude of changes to the fore. Among the changes is that the device now meets Android 6.0 Professional Audio requirements. The update also brings the June 2016 security patch to the device, which is good to know for the owners of the tablet.

#NVIDIA has been one of the few OEMs who have been committed to sending out updates in time. So it doesn’t surprise us that the Shield Tablet K1 is yet again getting an update. Catch the full changelog below:

SHIELD Tablet K1 now meets Android 6.0 Professional Audio requirements, including:

  1. Low Latency Audio (<20ms continuous round trip)
  2. USB Host & Peripheral modes
  3. [email protected] Stereo & 7.1 HDMI output
  4. MIDI support over USB & Bluetooth LE
  • Option to toggle Navigation Button location (Settings > Personalize Settings)
  • Enhancements & fixes to Vulkan™ API
  • Improvements to touch responsiveness
  • Fixes to WiFi & Bluetooth connectivity
  • Update to Android 6.0 Security Patch Level June 1, 2016
  • Overall stability and additional security improvements
