It’s been known for a while now that #HTC will be involved with the #Nexus smartphones this year. Yes, that’s plural because the company is expected to launch two devices – one with a top-of-the-line hardware specs sheet and the other with a slightly underpowered hardware at a lower price point. This would be similar to the Huawei Nexus 6P and the LG Nexus 5X that were launched last year, but the big difference here would be that HTC will produce both phones.
Anyway, the lower specced HTC Nexus now has its full hardware specifications leaking out, thanks to an insider source quoted by Android Police. It’s not known yet if this is the real deal, but it does appear believable, considering that this is going to be the base Nexus model this year. The leak doesn’t specify if there will be multiple storage or RAM variants, but we can’t rule that out as of now. Naturally, the smartphone should be running Android N by default.
Rumored HTC Nexus ‘Sailfish’ specifications:
- 5-inch 1080p display
- Quad-core 2 GHz processor (make not specified)
- 4GB RAM
- 32GB storage
- 12MP rear camera
- 8MP front camera
- 2,770 mAh battery
- Fingerprint scanner
- USB Type-C port
- Bottom facing speakers (possibly stereo)
