T-Mobile’s #BingeOn is probably one of the most popular services out there as it provides unlimited video usage (to a select number of apps). There is now word that #Facebook could be joining the list very soon. This makes sense given that Facebook hosts a large number of videos posted every day by users and companies alike. Also, knowing how major video streaming services like YouTube and Netflix are already part of T-Mobile’s Binge On, adding Facebook to the list doesn’t necessarily come across as surprising.
The move hasn’t been confirmed by T-Mobile or Facebook, so let’s take this with a pinch of salt for the time being. But considering how reports like these are usually right, there shouldn’t be any hurdles in the way for T-Mobile or Facebook. One concern for users would be the throttling that T-Mobile does with its Binge On providers. Since it’s an unlimited offering, the carrier caps the streaming quality to save data. It will be interesting to see if the same will be done with Facebook.
