Company officials confirm there won’t be a OnePlus X successor this year

OnePlus X

Just as the #OnePlus3 went official yesterday, the company co-founder Pete Lau has mentioned that there won’t be another #OnePlusX this year. This hasn’t particularly taken us by surprise since the handset wasn’t exactly a hot seller to begin with.

Lau has mentioned that the company will only focus on its “true flagship”, such as the OnePlus 3. This suggests that the next flagship from OnePlus will be the OnePlus 4 next year.

We don’t mind this news given that the market won’t be crowded with too many devices. However, the OnePlus X was catering to the budget and mid-ranged markets, which might feel a little vacant now with the series’ departure. With that being said, the market probably won’t miss the OnePlus X. Customers can expect to find several discounts on the handset in the days to come.
