A recent report talked about #Samsung looking to focus more on its custom Tizen OS by ditching #AndroidWear. However, the company has now categorically refuted this particular allegation, going on to mention that it has made no such announcements.
While the company has made no promises with regards to sticking with Android Wear or launching a new wearable in the future, the fact that it has denied giving up on the platform is some solace for fans who wish for an Android Wear Samsung smartwatch.
Samsung, as we all know, is heavily invested in the Tizen platform and is all set to unveil a new fitness band featuring the new OS. Keeping this in mind, it wouldn’t be far-fetched of someone to assume that the company would forget about Android Wear. But it’s good to see that the company hasn’t given up yet. There’s still some uncertainty over when we will get to see a new Samsung Android Wear offering, but we’re keeping our hopes up.
Here’s what Samsung said in response to Fast Company’s original report – “Samsung has not made any announcement concerning Android Wear and we have not changed our commitment to any of our platforms.”
