According to a new revelation, Samsung’s recently leaked #GearFit2 wearable could be unveiled as soon as next month in its home turf South Korea. It is further believed that the fitness tracker will sport a bioprocessor underneath which would give users access to more health metrics such as skin temperature, bioelectrical impedance analysis, organ measurements as well as an electrocardiogram. This is supposedly an all-in-one sensor, which would also help Samsung cut down on components and process data much faster.
From what we’ve seen and heard about the Gear Fit 2, the wearable could be one of the most attractive fitness trackers to hit the market. However, pricing will be a key factor in the success or failure of this particular accessory. Knowing how wearables like the Fitbit Surge are priced at about $250, we think a similar pricing would make the Gear Fit 2 a very attractive proposition.
The wearable is expected to be sporting a 1.84-inch AMOLED display, a built-in GPS and 4GB of internal storage. It will be interesting to see if there will be any limitations with regards to device compatibility. However, as we’ve seen with the Gear S2, the Gear Fit 2 will most likely be compatible with a wide range of smartphones out there.
