Note 4 Screen Is Black
Problem: The screen is black power off left battery out for few hours and took the SIM card out put everything back and the screen is totally black. I was out running and it start raining so I though the rain got in the phone I took the battery out and let it dry over night.
Solution: If you suspect that the phone got wet then what you need to do first is to turn it off and let it dry. Listed below are the things that you need to do.
- Take out the battery, SIM card, and microSD card if one is installed.
- If you see any wet areas then dry the phone using a fan.
- Place your phone in a bag of uncooked rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone.
After 48 hours the moisture inside your phone will already dry out. Reinsert the battery then turn on your phone. If the screen is still black then try using a different battery. You should also check if you are able to start the phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then I suggest you do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy first. If the screen is still black then it could be water damaged. I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Black Screen
Problem: I have a note 4 edge and I am facing the black screen problem and I have done that method of taking out Battery and then hold the lock button for 2 minutes and then wait for 10 minutes and then put the Battery back and switch on the phone but that doesn’t work out. I’ve done that for many times but i’m not able to get started with it.
Solution: Have you dropped your phone or got it wet prior to this issue happening? These events can contribute to the black screen issue that your phone is having right now. If you haven’t dropped your phone or got it wet then follow the recommended troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Try to start the phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then I suggest you consider doing a factory reset. This will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy prior to doing this.
- Try using a new battery.
If the above steps fail then this could already be a hardware related issue. I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center if this is the case.
Note 4 Black Screen After Phone Dropped
Problem: I dropped my new phone face down on a tile floor. Now the screen is black and it has hairline fractures underneath the screen to the fair right edge. The bottom back and menu buttons blink white and the led light blinks slowly. But the screen is completely black. I have tried several times the battery out and power button hold thing. Any suggestions? I bought this phone on ebay with no contract or warranty. Am I just completely screwed? Thanks.
Related Problem: Hi I dropped my phone. I can turn it on however the screen doesn’t come on and stay black but LED light is still on and it’s blue colour… What do I do?
Solution: If you see hairline fractures under the screen then it is already physically damaged. You should bring the phone to a service center and have the display checked. It’s possible that you will need to have this display replaced.
Note 4 Dark Areas In Screen After Phone Dropped
Problem: I dropped my device, but although it started up again and the screen is working, it has problems. There are dark areas, as though some of the lights behind the screen are not functioning. It doesn’t always turn on, sometimes I have to keep pressing the button on top. The text also looks fuzzy, and the device starts to flicker
Solution: The quickest way to check if this is a hardware issue that’s caused by the drop is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still occurs then the display may be damaged. I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Screen Turns On After Timeout
Problem: When the screen light is on and after the timeout of screen, again the light gets on and it goes on for another 5 seconds. This happened after updating to marshmallow.
Solution: It’s possible that this issue could be caused by some old software data that is still in your phone. Follow the steps listed below to resolve this problem. Move to the next step if the issue still occurs.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
