Future Android Auto update will let you use the feature without a dedicated head-unit

Android Auto New Update

A new update to #AndroidAuto will finally let you use the feature without relying on an exorbitantly priced head unit (or a flashy new car). Google has just announced that a future update to Android Auto will make all of its features accessible directly on the smartphone, with the help of big sized buttons as you can see in the screenshots.

So you would require nothing more than your smartphone to enjoy all the features of Android Auto in a relatively small screen. This sounds just like Android with bigger buttons, but that’s exactly the point. Drivers cannot be distracted by the intricacies of the user interface, so by making the buttons bigger, it is ensured that their attention is firmly on the road. The big buttons will help you in receiving a call or performing other functions without taking too much of your attention.

Android Auto - New

The feasibility of this feature is yet to be tested and we’re sure the safety authorities will have a word or two to say about this, but overall, it seems like a step in the right direction by the Android Auto team. What do you think?
