Sony SmartWatch 3 now getting Android Marshmallow

Sony SmartWatch 3

The #Sony #SmartWatch3 is now said to be getting an update to Android 6.0 #Marshmallow. The wearable has waited quite a while to get the latest version of Android Wear, but better late than never, right? Well, the SmartWatch 3 isn’t exactly the most popular Android Wear offering out there, so it’s not a surprise that Sony wasn’t taking its development too seriously.

This is in stark contrast to how the company takes its smartphones which have been some of the quickest to get the latest Android updates (with some exceptions, of course). In any case, the update is finally here for owners of the SmartWatch 3 and comes with the build number MEC24H.

Naturally, it will have to be downloaded on your paired smartphone, so make sure you follow the necessary instructions when prompted on the wearable. Alternatively, users can also try heading over to the smartwatch settings to pull an update that way. Already received the update? Make sure you let us know in the comments below.
