The #HTCVive headset is now available for purchase from the company as we all know. However, the sales process didn’t go as smoothly as the company expected. A handful of users received order cancellation emails out of the blue, taking them by shock.
HTC has now come out with a detailed statement on the matter while also promising to reinstate the accidentally cancelled orders. HTC reported an impressive 15,000 paid pre-orders of the HTC Vive right as soon as it went live, indicating that there’s plenty of buzz in favor of HTC’s virtual reality offering.
Here’s what HTC had to say – “While fulfilling this week’s orders for HTC Vive, a limited number of individuals were affected by auto cancellations due to processing issues with financial institutions. We’re actively working to resolve this, and have already reinstated orders for some customers. We want to assure our customers that we’ll work with them to process their payment so they can receive their Vive when they were expecting it. If you pre-ordered a Vive, we encourage you to contact your financial institution to notify them of upcoming charges.”
It is also likely that your bank might be at fault in some of these cases, so make sure you’re in touch with them for any further details. It’s good to see HTC getting right on top of the issue to quell any fears among the buyers/customers.
