Global version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 now getting Marshmallow update

Galaxy S5

The #Samsung #GalaxyS5 is now receiving the #Android 6.0#Marshmallow update internationally, according to a new report. The update hasn’t reached carrier models as of yet, but it is expected that those variants will get the update soon as well. The Galaxy S5 is over two years old in the mobile industry and wasn’t particularly successful for Samsung. So it’s good to see that the device is still being supported by the company.

Unlocked Galaxy S5 models across the globe should see an update right away, although be advised that it might not be visible everywhere right now. In any case, make sure you hit the Settings – About Phone page to see if it’s available. Marshmallow brings a multitude of changes including a new UI, some Google-specific features like Doze Mode, Google Now on Tap and several other additions.

Expect the usual suite of security patches to be on board as well. Already seeing the update? make sure you drop a line below to let us know.
