Samsung to release a mini variant of the Galaxy S7 with a Snapdragon 820 chip

Galaxy S7 - Galaxy S7 edge

According to a new rumor, #Samsung is keen on releasing a new mini version of the recently launched #GalaxyS7 flagship. This report from a Korean Apple fan-site mentions that the smartphone will be released to rival the upcoming Apple iPhone SE which is expected to break cover very soon.

What’s interesting is that the smartphone will supposedly pack a Snapdragon 820 SoC on board, making it equally powerful as the standard Galaxy S7 model. There will also be an Exynos 8890 variant of the smartphone, apparently. This suggests that the marketing and availability of the device will be pretty much the same as the standard Galaxy S7 and S7 edge models wherein the Snapdragon 820 models are only sold in select markets (including the U.S.) while the Exynos models are sold in other international markets.

It is believed that the Galaxy S7 mini will have a 4.7-inch 720p display on board, a 12-megapixel camera and 3GB of RAM. The smartphone will supposedly be 9.9mm thick, which is quite much by modern smartphone standards. Are you excited about a mini Galaxy S7? Let us know in the comments below.
