#Samsung has freshly announced the #GalaxyJ7 and the #GalaxyJ5 smartphones, but only in China for the time being. Samsung China has listed the two devices on its official website, although we’re still in the dark about global availability. Expect American carriers like AT&T, Sprint (and its subsidiaries) to carry the handset when it is made official in the U.S.
On the hardware front, both devices appear to be worthy successors to their 2015 siblings. The Galaxy J7 is naturally the better equipped of the two and comes with a 1080p display while the Galaxy J5 has to make do with an HD display instead.
The Galaxy J7 (2016) comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable), a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, a 3,300 mAh battery and possibly Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Galaxy J5 (2016) sports a 5.2-inch 720p display, a 1.2 GHz quad-core SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera and a 3,100 mAh battery. Samsung hasn’t clarified the OS that’s running on both devices, so we’re bound to believe that the handsets are running Marshmallow under the hood.
