Getting an app into the device is easy since all you have to do is to click on its download link. There are however instances when app related issues can occur which we would like to cover today. S6 Calculator App Will Not Open
Problem: The calculator app won’t open. It stopped opening after i updated my phone. It says “Unfortunately, calculator has stopped”. I’ve turned my phone off and on again. Restarted it. Also, went to the application manager and disabled, then enabled the app. Cleared the cache… don’t know what to do. Thank you.
Solution: The troubleshooting steps that you did were correct. In cases where an app has unfortunately stopped working the usual thing to do is to clear the cache and data of the app. If this doesn’t work then wiping the cache partition from the recovery mode is to be done next.
In this case however the issue occured right after a software update. This means that another factor can cause this problem and that is data from the old software version. When this gets left behind it can cause a conflict with the new software version resulting in this issue. If this is the case then I suggest you backup your phone data first then do a factory reset.
S6 App Can’t Be Downloaded Error 907
Problem: I tried to installed Facebook and Skype and kodi , my phone keep saying this can’t be downloaded try again. Before it was installed in my phone , I have enough space left . I try to solve the issue so I clear all cash and unmounted the SD card and try to install again, but still it doesn’t work , I removed my Google account and restarted the phone and sign in again , it still doesn’t work . Please help me solve the issue. Please let me know as soon as you get my message. Thank you.
Solution: If you are having a problem downloading certain apps from the Google Play Store what you should do first is to check if this is a connection related problem. Try connecting your phone to a different Wi-Fi network or you could also try to use your mobile data to download the app.
Once you have determined that the issue is not connection related proceed with troubleshooting the phone by following the steps listed below. After performing each step check if the issue still occurs.
- Restart your phone. Sometimes the device just needs to be refreshed to eliminate the problem.
- Check if the date and time of your phone is causing the problem. Uncheck the “Automatic date & time” and “Automatic time zone” setting. Change the time and date so that they are wrong. Tap the home screen button. Go back to the date and time settings then manually change the settings to the correct values. Check the “Automatic date & time” and “Automatic time zone” setting.
- Clear the cache and data of the Google Play Store app.
- Uninstall updates to the Google Play Store App.
- Reinstall updates to the Google Play Store App.
- Check if your phone is running on the latest software update. Apply the update if necessary.
- Check if the download manager of your phone is enabled. To do this go to settings then application manager. Look for the download manager app under the all tab.
- Make sure that you have more than 1GB of internal storage space on the phone.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S6 Cannot Manually Install APK File
Problem: Trying to install apk and application install will not allow install. Unknown sources is switched on. Will still allow apps installed with play store. APk will pass virus software.
Solution: Try to check first if the phone security is causing the problem by installing another APK file to your phone. If this other file does not install then there may be a security software in your phone that is preventing the installation of files from unknown sources. If this file installs properly then the problem could be caused by a corrupt APK file. Download the APK file again preferably from a different source then try to install it again.
S6 Unfortunately Messages Has Stopped Error
Problem: I got all the time the pop-up “Unfortunately, Messages has stopped”. With Lollypop I never had this problem, despite the fact that I’m using as default app for messages GO SMS PRO. Thanks in advance!
Solution: The first thing that you need to do when you encounter this problem is to clear the cache and data of the app. In this case you will need to do this procedure for the Go SMS Pro app. Follow this up by clearing the cache and data of the stock messaging app as well.
If the problem still occurs then I suggest you uninstall this app then download a fresh version from the Google Play Store.
One other factor to consider that is causing this issue is that an update to the app is causing the problem. If this is the case then you will need to wait for a future update to address this concern.
If at this point the error message still keeps on popping up then I suggest you temporarily uninstall the app and use the stock messaging app of the phone instead.
S6 Alarm App Not Working After Software Update
Problem: I can’t get any alarm app to work properly after the software update. I’ve used Alarm Extreme for quite some time, but it does not work after the update. I have uninstalled and re-installed the app. I have tried different alarm apps, but none of them work.
Solution: If this problem occured right after the software update then it’s possible that it is caused by old software data that has not been completely removed from the phone. I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset to resolve this issue.
S6 App Loads When Phone Connected To Charger
Problem: Occasionally when I use the wall charger the phone attempts to load a virtual reality app that I have never downloaded or tried to install. This locks up the phone until the battery dies and I can re start. How do I disable this?
Solution: Try to check what app this is then go to your application manager and uninstall it from there. If you can’t find the app from the application manager then the best way to proceed is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
